About your baseball coach

I’m Bryan Perez, a former professional pitcher who made it to Low-A with the Houston Astros. Baseball taught me that success isn’t just about velocity—it’s about confidence, mindset, and trusting your process. Now, I help athletes develop their mechanics, mental game, and self-belief so they can perform consistently and reach the next level.

Before working with Bryan at Legacy Pitching Lab, I was struggling with my velocity, control, and confidence on the mound. I knew I wanted to get better, but I didn’t know how to take it to the next level. Since starting the program, everything has changed. The workouts, arm care, mobility, and mindset coaching have all helped me throw harder, hit my spots more consistently, and feel confident in games. Bryan pushes you to work hard, but he also cares about making you the best version of yourself — not just for baseball, but for life. I can feel myself improving every week, and I know this program gives me the best chance to compete at the college level and beyond.

Before I started training with Bryan at Legacy Pitching Lab, I always felt nervous on the mound and unsure if I could compete with the top guys. Since starting the program, everything has changed. My velocity is up, my command is tighter, and I finally feel confident in every game. Bryan teaches you more than just pitching — he shows you how to train your body, take care of your arm, and think like a competitor. Every session pushes me to be better, and I can see myself improving every week. I know that with his guidance, I’m giving myself the best chance to play at the college level and beyond.

When I first started working with Bryan at Legacy Pitching Lab, I didn’t feel like I was making real progress on the mound. My velocity was stuck, I wasn’t hitting my spots, and I lacked confidence in games. Now, my arm feels stronger, my mechanics are way cleaner, and I actually feel like I belong on the mound. Bryan pushes me hard, but he also teaches me how to take care of my body and think like a competitor. Every session I leave feeling better than the day before. I know I’m giving myself the best chance to play at the next level.

Training with Bryan at Legacy Pitching Lab has completely changed how I pitch. I used to struggle with consistency and my velocity wasn’t where I wanted it to be. Now, my mechanics are cleaner, my arm feels stronger, and I throw harder than ever. Bryan doesn’t just focus on pitching — he teaches you how to be a complete athlete. The workouts, arm care, and mindset coaching push me to improve every single day. I feel more confident on the mound, and I know I’m building the skills and body I need to compete at the highest level. If you want to take your game seriously and give yourself the best chance to reach college or pro ball, this is the place to be.

Since I started training with Bryan at Legacy Pitching Lab, my game has taken a huge leap. I used to struggle with my velocity and staying consistent in games, but now I feel stronger, more precise, and confident every time I pitch. Bryan doesn’t just focus on throwing — he helps you build your body, protect your arm, and think like a competitor. Every workout pushes me to improve, and I can see the results week by week. I feel like I’m finally performing at the level I’ve always wanted and giving myself the best chance to compete professionally.

Beginner training plan
Your first lessonFirst Lesson Approach (Beginner Pitcher) 1. Assessment Through Warm-Up • I begin by teaching proper warm-up and arm care while asking the athlete questions to learn about their background, experience, goals, and body awareness. • This allows me to evaluate movement patterns, coordination, and comfort level in real time. 2. Progressive Drill Work • As the warm-up continues, I introduce drills tailored to the athlete based on what I observe. • Drills are chosen on the spot to help the athlete begin developing efficient mechanics and feel for proper movement. 3. Throwing & Catch Play • We then move into structured catch play together. • During catch, I provide live feedback and simple cues to reinforce what was taught during drills. 4. Bullpen and/or Workout • Depending on the athlete’s readiness, we finish with: • A controlled bullpen session • A strength or movement workout • Or both 5. Wrap-Up & Direction • The session ends with clear feedback, next steps, and guidance on what to focus on moving forward.
Lesson 11+Lessons 11+ Approach (Advanced Development) 1. Continuous Learning • Baseball is a game where there is always something new to learn, and at the advanced and elite levels, mastery takes time and consistent effort. 2. Building a Support System • Our role is to act as the “pit crew” for the player — providing guidance, corrections, and support to tackle challenges as they arise. • The goal is to ensure the player is always prepared to handle whatever obstacles or adjustments come their way. 3. Striving for Excellence • Perfection is not the expectation; rather, the focus is on consistently striving to be the best version of themselves every day. • Sustained growth requires maintaining good habits, reinforcing fundamentals, and continuing to build skill over time, because it is far easier to undo progress than to build it. 4. Long-Term Mindset • These lessons emphasize developing independence, resilience, and understanding that improvement is a lifelong journey. • Each session continues to challenge the player, helping them refine mechanics, mental toughness, and overall performance.
Lesson 4-10Lessons 4–10 Approach (Beginner to Developing Pitcher) 1. Progress Assessment • During this phase, we begin to expect tangible results from consistent practice. • Progress is assessed through observation of warm-ups, drills, throwing, and bullpen sessions, as well as performance in games outside of lessons. 2. Key Focus Areas • Velocity: Is the player throwing harder? • Command: Is the player throwing more strikes? • Confidence: Is the player demonstrating more poise and comfort on the mound? • While arm care, workouts, and warm-ups support these areas, the main measure of success is improvement in velocity, command, and mound confidence. 3. Reinforcement and Adjustment • Lessons continue to reinforce previous adjustments and correct any new mistakes. • Progress is gradual, and players earn the right to advance to more complex adjustments as they demonstrate mastery of the basics. 4. Consistency Over Time • While noticeable improvement can occur in this time frame, continued, consistent work over a minimum of three months is essential for lasting results. • Each session is designed to build understanding, skill, and confidence, ensuring steady growth in all areas.
Lesson 2-3Second and Third Lesson Approach (Beginner Pitcher) 1. Reinforcement of Key Adjustments • These sessions focus on reinforcing the main mechanical adjustments identified during the first assessment. • The goal is to ensure the player begins to consistently apply these changes before moving on to new adjustments. 2. Gradual Progression • I understand that improvement takes time, so I don’t expect perfect execution immediately. • Each player earns the right to move to the next adjustment once the previous one is reliably demonstrated. 3. Continuous Observation • I remain attentive to any additional mechanical or physical mistakes that may appear. • Corrections are introduced carefully to avoid overwhelming the player and to maintain steady, lasting progress. 4. Building a Foundation • The second and third lessons are about creating a strong foundation mechanically, mentally, and physically so the player can confidently progress in future sessions.

What you need to bringTurf shoes • Cleats • Baseball glove Player Development Note • Players will gradually be encouraged to obtain their own training equipment used in sessions in order to promote independence, responsibility, and long-term development.

What I can bring • J-Bands (arm care bands) • Water bags • Weighted baseballs • Regulation baseballs • Training tube / resistance tube • Portable pitching mound • Dumbbells • Medicine balls • Foam roller • VPX Performance Belt • Velocity Core Belt • Pocket Radar (velocity tracking)
