Beginner training plan
Your first lessonFor first lesson, I want to always make it fun for a great first experience. Safety comes first; so in this first lesson no hard balls will be used. I start with hand/eye coordination games/drills to assess their natural athletic ability. Basic catching, throwing, and hitting drills. I teach them the rules of the games that expands in each lesson. I ask many questions to gauge where the student is mentally. Each student is unique and building confidence is key. I leave them with drills they can do at home to help fast pace their learning process.
Lesson 2-3Second lesson is a reinforcement of previous session implementing a few more elements.
Defense: focuses on foot work , approach with hand/eye coordination and throwing drills
Offense: is a deeper dive into batting fundamentals. Breaking down the complete swing.
In this stage we began hitting off the tee and depending on skill level will advance to live ball moments.
Lesson 4-10This lesson is another building block from the previous lessons.
Defense: we move to live fielding , throwing and live hitting at slow / mid speed. Focus is always fundamentals first!
Lesson 11+These last sessions is were everything comes together. By this time students will have built skill and confidence in their game. The hard ball finally comes into play and everything is at full speed, and now it’s just repetition. Always focusing on the fundamentals we began with on day one throughout.
What you need to bringBecause each student height , weight, & strength is different, student should bring their own bat and glove.
What I can bringMy teaching approach focuses on core fundamentals. Foot work, hand drills, and hand eye coordination. I’ll bring baseballs and a tee.
