About your baseball coach

With 28 years dedicated to shaping my own baseball talent (yes I started t-ball at 2 haha), I offer expertise honed through years of playing and teaching. My approach is dedicated, detailed, and fun to bring out your best potential on the diamond. I still play professionally in Liga Mexico de Beisbol and played 9 years in America for the Tampa Bay Rays, Cincinnati Reds, Seattle Mariners, and San Diego Padres organizations up to AAA

Beginner training plan
Your first lessonI’d like to talk about why they want to play baseball. Tell stories of their favorite player or why they want to play. For a beginner in any sport, the first step is enjoying the fun parts, so expect to make some diving plays and get a little dirty!
Lesson 11+In baseball, 4-10 lessons isn’t enough to change much. What I will do if the student is progressing fast is start to challenge them: faster pitching, harder ground balls, higher pop flies. Maintaining fun but also doing the necessary challenging of skills so we can improve
Lesson 4-10This is where we start to talk about the “why” while we train. Why do we need to set our feet when we throw? Why do we need to be balanced when we hit? We will talk about the “why” and when the student executes it, well celebrate any and all victories as we get better at our craft
Lesson 2-3The fundamentals of baseball are protecting the baseball and respecting the baseball. I will play catch with the student, do some hitting with the student to gauge where their talent level is at.

Advanced training plan
Your first lessonTalking about the students playing level, how much they love baseball, how far they want to take it, and what they want to get out of lessons. We will hit, throw, catch, take ground balls/fly balls so I can get a good feel for the students talent level
Lesson 4-10More specific and intentional days. We don’t want to work on everything for 5-10 minutes each. This is where we will spend a full lesson on 1 or 2 aspects of baseball and focus on what the student needs to improve at their own pace.
Lesson 2-3After the first assessment lesson, there’s many routes to go. I’d like to have a free phone call with the student and parents to talk about current talent and dedication level. A lot of baseball training happens in the weight room as well. This is a natural stepping stone for advanced athletes I would like to consider before moving forward.

What you need to bringA good attitude, respect for their parents, respect for equipment, facilities. Baseball is fun, but it also teaches discipline and good manners.

What I can bringI can provide any and all equipment you or your child don’t have. I’d prefer you to bring your own equipment so we can build a relationship with your glove, bat, etc. but no worries either way!
