About your baseball coach

With over 7 years of coaching experience and a lifelong passion for the game, I’m proud to offer private baseball lessons focused on sharpening fielding mechanics, improving catching skills, and developing a confident, powerful swing. I currently coach multiple youth teams across elementary, junior high, and high school levels—and I understand how to meet players where they’re at to help them grow both on and off the field. My coaching style is rooted in discipline, confidence, and fun. Whether your child is just starting out or looking to level up their game, I tailor each session to the athlete’s needs and goals.

Youth players
Working with kids✅ 1. Simplify the Language Kids need clear, fun, and short instructions. Turn complex cues into playful phrases ✅ 2. Shorten Drills & Add Variety Children get bored or distracted quickly. Break longer drills into: • 5-minute “mini drills” • Stations or rotations every 10–12 minutes • Built-in water breaks every 15–20 minutes Use fun names like: • “Glove Monster” for soft-hand drills • “Rocket Launch” for batting follow-through • “Quick Feet Relay” for footwork speed ⸻ ✅ 3. Gamify Everything Every drill becomes a challenge or competition. Examples: • Fielding: “How many ground balls can you catch in a row without a miss?” “If you get 3 clean scoops, you unlock the ‘Super Throw’ challenge.” • Hitting: Hit the cone = 1 point Hit it three times = you win a prize (or just high five) • Catching: Block the ball and beat coach to the cone Pop-up drill = “Catcher’s Sky Ball Showdown” ⸻ 🧢 Adapted Example: Lesson 11 for Kids Theme: “Baseball on the Move!” Ages: 6–10 Warm-Up (10 min) • Animal movements (crab walk, frog hops) • Toss-and-catch while running in place • Throw to a cone or “Glove Target” Fielding (15 min) • Cone Shuffle → Coach rolls ball → Scoop + Throw • “Beat the Ball” race: coach rolls slow → they charge and scoop Catching (10 min) • “Block the Bomb” – tennis balls underhanded • “Pop-Up Panic” – toss and track • “Glove Freeze” – catch and freeze in position Hitting (20 min) • Tee Challenge: Hit 5 into the net • Soft toss with numbered balls (call the number before swing) • “Batting Ladder” – hit 3 in a row = level up Finish (5 min) • Run bases race • Review one thing they did AWESOME • Give homework: “5 glove flips, 5 swings, 5 throws at home”

Working with teenagers✅ 1. Warm-Up • Include mobility bands, dynamic stretching, agility ladder, and pre-throw arm care • Use timed competitions to push pace: “10 cones in 30 seconds” Teen Focus: Build routine. Talk about the “why” behind every movement. ⸻ ✅ 2. Fielding • Increase range, speed, and glove control drills • Add throwing accuracy tests, backhand/forehand reps, reaction drills • Emphasize proper throwing mechanics under pressure Teen Focus: Incorporate video feedback or performance goals (e.g., “Let’s improve your transfer time by 0.2 seconds”). ⸻ ✅ 3. Catching • Catchers: practice framing low balls, throwdowns, blocking footwork • Non-catchers: simulate catching drills for general reaction and confidence Teen Focus: “Own the field” attitude. Work on leadership and vocal command. ⸻ ✅ 4. Hitting • Use pitch tracking drills, 2-strike adjustments, and oppo field work • Start introducing swing analysis (launch angle, exit velocity if you have tools) • Hit off front toss, live arm, and machine if available Teen Focus: Mental at-bats. Ask: “What’s your plan at the plate right now?” ⸻ ✅ 5. Situational IQ • Introduce game simulations, infield communication drills, and cutoff reads • Give them “what would you do?” moments during drills Teen Focus: Build their internal clock and decision-making. ⸻ ✅ 6. Competition & Conditioning • End sessions with challenges: • 3 clean scoops in 12 seconds • 5/6 hits to target zones • “Clutch swing” w/ pressure situation called out • Add core work, lateral sprints, resistance band drills if time allows 🧢 Teen-Specific Practice Enhancements • Incorporate journaling: Ask them to track their own performance goals weekly • Introduce position prep: Ex: “You’re a shortstop – here’s how your footwork should differ” • Create leader moments: Let them help explain a drill or lead a warm-up
