About your basketball coach
With 25 years devoted to basketball, it is something I love to do and love to teach. Over the years I have helped coach and run sport camps for high schools, high school summer leagues, and public youth sport camps in the PNW. I know the game inside and out and still play pick up ball weekly in the Portland area. I have over 10 years teaching experience and use that to help connect you to habits and techniques that will develop and grow your game to the next level. Beginner training plan
Your first lessonThis lesson is about getting to know you, your current skills and what you want to work on and/or achieve. We'll go over basics and anything you feel is pressing.
Lesson 11+In the later lessons we will continue to build confidence in your skills and add tips and tricks on how to mentally beat your opponents. We'll practice those skills heavily and build on teamwork, sportsmanship, and respect for others. Lessons at this stage will also include different drills and activities that you can replicate at home or on your local court.
Lesson 4-10In these lessons we'll work on intermediate skills and helpful tricks on how to get position, how to see the court and how to work with a team. We will also focus on your needed improvements and focus skills to your abilities and build confidence on the court.
Lesson 2-3In these lessons we'll learn basic skills, off ball skills and defense. We'll also touch bases on your needed areas and develop a plan for future lessons.
