Beginner training plan
Your first lessonaccess current skill levels in dribbling, shooting, footwork, form, and stamina
Lesson 11+putting everything into play. scrimmaging and putting skills to the test in the speed and intensity of a real game
Lesson 4-10begin to incorporate learned skills into actual play and develop basketball iq. start doing shooting off the dribble, defensive slides, post moves
Lesson 2-3work on skills that the student is struggling in the most. Develop routine dribbling drills, form shooting, and footwork drills
Youth players
Working with kidsat this age, having fun is more important than getting everything right. kids often get frustrated easy and this prevents them from giving their all or believing in themselves. when working with kids i would focus on building skills in fun, friendly, and less competitive ways that grow the love they have for the game while improving their skills
Working with teenagersteenagers are at a higher level of competition so this level would focus more on skill development personal player awareness, basketball iq, and being able to translate practice playing into game playing.
