Our daughter has been working with Brian for a while now, and the difference we've seen is amazing—not just in her basketball skills, but in her confidence and attitude too. She looks forward to every session, and that says a lot. Brian just gets how to work with kids. He pushes her to do her best without ever making her feel discouraged. Her shooting, ball handling, and overall understanding of the game have improved so much. But what really stands out to us is how much more sure of herself she’s become—on and off the court. As a parent, it's such a great feeling to see your child grow under the guidance of someone who truly cares. Brian is more than just a coach—he’s a mentor, and we’re incredibly grateful for the impact he’s had on our daughter. If you're looking for someone who will help your child grow as both an athlete and a person, we can’t recommend Brian enough.

We are beyond grateful for the impact Brian has had on our daughter—not just as a basketball coach, but as a mentor and role model. Since she started training with Brian, her confidence, skill level, and love for the game have skyrocketed. What truly sets Brian apart is the way he tailors his coaching to each athlete. He took the time to understand our daughter’s strengths and challenges, and built a plan that pushed her while still keeping things positive and fun. Her footwork, shooting form, and game awareness have improved dramatically—and it’s showing on the court. But more than that, she’s grown as a leader and competitor. Brian teaches discipline, resilience, and accountability—qualities that are helping her succeed in basketball and beyond. We couldn’t ask for a better coach for our daughter. Highly, highly recommend!

Coach Brian is an excellent coach and mentor. His passion for basketball was reflected in the attitudes of his players. During my daughter’s first season there was a noticeable increase in skill for not only herself but her teammates as well. His knowledge of the game was outstanding and his friendly approach to teaching made it a pleasure to watch. We look forward to continuing lessons with Coach Hunt and would recommend him to everyone who wants to learn and grow in their skills as basketball players.
Lyndsay
Coach Brian was our daughter’s first basketball coach and she had an awesome experience. He stays positive and he knows how to encourage the players. Coach Brian’s positive attitude is reflected by the players continuously improving throughout the season. He’s calm and composed and he has the knowledge and experience to tailor his instruction to the individual at their level. I would highly recommend Coach Brian to improve your child’s basketball knowledge, skills and confidence on the court.

Beginner training plan
Your first lessonI believe the goal of the first lesson is to introduce the basics, build confidence, and make the game fun while emphasizing fundamental skills. Usually I start with a brief introduction as well as setting expectations like listening, working hard, and having fun! (5-10 mins) We then proceed to warm up with some light movement drills. (Light jog, dynamic stretches, and basic footwork drills) [Jump stops, Triple threat position, Defensive slides, etc.] (10-15 mins) Followed by more drills that will help identify the athlete’s strengths and weaknesses. (Ball handling 15-20mins, passing 10-15mins, shooting 15-20mins, defense 10 mins, scrimmage 10-15 mins) We end our first session with a 5-10 minute cool down that helps us review what we learned, how to apply our skills in game, all while stretching to help avoid cramping/injury.
Lesson 11+Once players have a solid foundation in dribbling, passing, shooting, defense, and basic game concepts, lessons will shift toward refining skills, increasing basketball IQ, and applying techniques in real-game situations. Here’s what they can expect moving forward: 1. Advanced Ball Handling & Playmaking Using combo moves effectively (crossover-to-hesitation, in-and-out dribbles). Handling defensive pressure and traps. Learning how to read defenders to make smart passing or scoring decisions. 2. Shooting Under Game Pressure Catch-and-shoot situations vs. off-the-dribble shots. Shooting with defenders closing out. Learning proper shot selection and creating space for shots. 3. Off-Ball Movement & Team Play Cutting and screening to get open. Moving without the ball to improve spacing. Learning how to set and use screens correctly. 4. Defensive IQ & Strategies Defending without fouling. Understanding help defense and rotations. Learning how to anticipate passes and force turnovers. 5. Transition & Fast-Break Execution Improving speed and decision-making in fast-break scenarios. Learning how to finish layups under pressure. Defensive transition drills to stop fast breaks. 6. Game Situations & Basketball IQ Running basic offensive plays. Reading defenses (man-to-man vs. zone). Understanding spacing, ball movement, and game tempo. 7. Competitive Play & Scrimmages More structured 3v3, 4v4, and 5v5 games. Emphasizing applying skills in live game situations. Coaching on real-time decision-making and adjustments. 8. Developing Confidence & Leadership Encouraging communication on the court. Building mental toughness in high-pressure situations. Teaching players how to be effective teammates and leaders. At this stage, players should feel more comfortable handling the ball, making smart plays, and playing competitively.
