When I first started working with Coach Donovan I was a solid player but wanted improve in certain areas of my game. specifically ball handling and shooting. After working with Coach Donovan over some time. My jump shot has improved dramatically and I have more confidence dribbling the basketball.

When he first started training Coach Donovan, he helped fix his mechanics and explained to him the importance of patience and technique. His game has drastically improved so much since training with Coach Donovan.

Beginner training plan
Your first lessonIn the first lesson with a beginner I would first start by introducing myself and let them know my background about basketball. I will then ask this student about their specific goals and what they want to improve on. I will then start the workout with a dynamic stretch to get the body warm. After the warm-up will begin with form shooting around the rim and about 10 min of ball handling workouts. Finally I will get into the base of the workout. This will usually be a specific skill we are going to work on that day.
Lesson 11+In the remaining lessons this student will have a personalized plan based on their skill set and how far they have progressed. We will continue to progress and add more and emphasize more focus on skills that student still needs to work on.
Lesson 4-10After 4-10 lessons this student will have built the confidence to perform the drills we haves worked on in lessons 2-3. We will continue to build on the skills we have been working on and focus a little more on skills that still need improvement.
Lesson 2-3After the second and third lessons. This player will begin to have a foundation of how the workouts are going to be. This student will have a base of how to perform a basketball workout. I will also give this student a couple of workouts they can do by themselves.

Youth players
Working with kidsWhen working with kids especially the younger ones. The object of the workout is to help them get better and teach while also having fun. I feel it is important to keep them engaged and focused. So in terms of the workout I would keep the drills very basic and simple and progress as needed.

Working with teenagersI will adapt the workouts by really focusing on specific for each workout. For more advanced kids I would work on multiple different skills but for teenagers I would focus on specific skill they need to improve on the most.

What you need to bringIf students would like to bring their own basketball to the workout that is perfectly fine. I would also bring a water bottle. Everything else for the workout I will provide.

What I can bringFor the workout I will provide basketballs and any other equipment I think will be needed for that specific workout. Such as cones or ladder.
