About your basketball coach

With over a decade of experience, I foster a love for basketball through skill-building and strategic gameplay. I played at Round Rock High School where I was a McDonald's All-American nominee, and then won two NCAA D1 championships at the University of North Texas and the University of the Incarnate Word. I would love to share everything I've learned throughout my career. My coaching emphasizes fundamental techniques and personal growth. Let's elevate your game! I know I am new to the game, but I come with lots of experience and talent.

Beginner training plan
Your first lessonI first like to get in touch with the player and their parents (if applicable) beforehand, to kind of feel out the player and their history in basketball, if any. During the first lesson, I keep it pretty simple so I can get an idea of how skilled the player is, and how they best take instruction because each player is different. It will include ball handling, form shooting, and some self-competition drills.
Lesson 11+In the remaining lessons, there should be considerable progress made, with lots of confidence. Each lesson, of course, depends on the players progress, but each of the drills will be considerably more difficult, which highlights what they’ve learned and excelled in.
Lesson 4-10In lessons 4-10 I hope to continue progressing in each area equally, whether that be ball handling, shooting, etc. I also encourage my beginners to work on the skills they learn at home or at a park/gym, because they will be more cemented in now.
Lesson 2-3After the first lesson, I’ll have a better constructed plan of how I want to proceed in the next couple lessons, highlighting what I think needs the most work in order to progress.

Youth players
Working with kidsKids are all different, so I approach them in the way that I best see fit. Some are better taking criticism in a harsh way, others are the opposite. I also am quick to adjust any lesson plans if I see a certain teaching method or drill isn’t working.

Working with teenagersAt this age, teenagers are oftentimes on different levels than one another. Being that I played for quite some time and at every level with lots of different teammates, I can easily gauge someone’s talent level and base drills on that. Teenagers normally can take criticism better than kids, but mine will always be in a constructive way.

What you need to bringShoes, water, and if they have a preferred basketball they want to use.

What I can bringCones, basketballs.
