Beginner training plan
Your first lessonI start the first lesson by getting to know the player — their experience, comfort level, and goals. I focus on building confidence and establishing trust. We go over the fundamentals: stance, footwork, dribbling technique, and shooting form. I keep it simple, positive, and engaging so they leave the first session feeling successful and excited to learn more.
Lesson 11+At this point, the focus shifts toward refining skills and understanding game strategy. Players start applying what they’ve learned in scrimmage-like settings and working on decision-making under pressure. I continue to encourage patience and growth, helping them see how fundamentals lead to strong, smart play.
Lesson 4-10By this stage, players can expect to build on their foundation with more advanced skills like defensive positioning, shooting off the dribble, and teamwork concepts. I emphasize consistency and effort while adding light competition to keep it fun and motivating. Each session builds confidence through repetition, feedback, and small wins.
Lesson 2-3In the next couple of lessons, I reinforce the basics while introducing more movement and coordination drills. We focus on ball control, passing accuracy, and layups. I start to layer in game-like situations at a slow pace so they can apply the skills we’ve been working on. The goal is steady progress and developing good habits early.

Youth players
Working with kidsWhen I work with kids, I focus on keeping lessons fun, positive, and full of movement. I use simple language, short drills, and plenty of encouragement to keep them engaged. My goal is to help them build confidence through small successes while learning the basics — dribbling, passing, shooting, and teamwork. I also mix in games and challenges to make learning feel exciting rather than repetitive.

Working with teenagersWith teenagers, I balance fundamentals with skill development and game awareness. I challenge them to think critically about the game — reading plays, making smart decisions, and improving their technique. I also make sure to connect with them on a personal level, showing respect and patience while setting clear expectations. The focus is on building confidence, accountability, and a strong work ethic both on and off the court.

What you need to bringBall if you have one, water, good shoes, and a good attitude.

What I can bringI can provide a ball if you don’t have a good one.
