About your dance teacher

"D" teaches Intro Salsa lessons for couples and individuals. Other forms of dance are available by request. Donna relocated from Boston MA, her lessons are taught in Marina Del Rey CA. She owned her own studios offering Ballet, Pointe', Jazz, Tap and Latin Styles. She started dance lessons at 8 years old, continued with Musical Theatre & Voice. Her studies included: Boston Ballet, Ballet Arts at Carnegie Hall, voice at Boston Conservatory. She has choreographed for SummerStock&community theatre.

Beginner training plan
Your first classYour first lesson: we will get familiar with what you may have already learned, any other forms of dance or are you a completely a beginner.
Class 2-3We will review what you learned from your 1st lesson, then continue by adding more body and arm movements. If you have a partner we will start to focus on how the leader & follower coordinate.
Class 4-10After you are comfortable with the movements, we can progress from a slower beat to faster songs. More intricate turns, head rolls, dips & shines.
Class 11+At this point the stars are the limit if you are ready. We will work head to toe, your whole body dances.
What you need to bringDansneakers, flat secure shoes-no flip flops, jazz shoes, sneakers Bring a water bottle Wear comfortable and cool clothing - you may work up sweat.

If you ever have a chance to dance with Donna, please do not let it slip by. Whenever I took a class with Donna I was always inspired by her expertise in dance of course, but more importantly, I always loved how she made me feel while I was learning. Donna has such an infectious, upbeat way about her that just makes you feel warm and welcome from the minute you meet. Donna teaches with more patience, kindness and enthusiasm than any other dance teacher I have ever known and her love for dance shines through in a way that is so contagious, you can’t help but wish that kind her passion and love for dance would spread through the world like a wildfire. If you are looking for a fun, energetic expert dance teacher, Donna is a truly wonderful choice. I would highly recommend her.

Donna is a wonderful dance teacher! With a lifetime of dance experience, she brings both knowledge and enthusiasm to every lesson. Before my trip to Puerto Rico for New Year’s, she helped me learn the basic salsa step and introduced me to partnering skills like the Cross Body Lead. She patiently explained how to move with the music and showed me how the different steps, directions and combinations fit together, making it easy for a beginner to follow along. One of the highlights was taking lessons on her beautiful boat at sunset. It made the experience feel relaxed, memorable and so much fun. Donna is a patient, encouraging and knowledgeable instructor who creates a supportive environment that builds both confidence and enjoyment.
