About your football coach

For over 20 years, I've fostered a love of football in athletes of all levels. I spent more than half of that time as a player including on the collegiate level. Ive been blessed with the opportunity to coach the game I love for the past 8 years. My coaching philosophy blends skill development with strategic thinking and a supportive environment. I'm dedicated to helping you reach your full potential on the field.

Coach Coffee went from being my high school RB coach, to my personal trainer. He’s been not only a great coach but an asset in my personal life as a mentor. He’s helped me get to and through college and I can’t thank him enough.
Charles Richards
I first met Coach (Bob) Coffee as a high school student. He told me everyday that I had the potential to play college football but I didn’t realize what exactly he saw in me that I didn’t. He started working with me outside of football practice and I ended up going D1 and playing football at the University of Memphis.
Absolom Bolling
Coach Coffee is a genuine person. He’s always been hard on me but afterwards he reminds me of my potential and how much he cares about seeing me reach heights that I thought were unrealistic at first. With his help I ended up playing Division 1 football at the University of Memphis.
Malachi McLaughlin
Coach Coffee began training me 1on1 after he became the defensive coordinator for my 7on7 team when I was in High School. He stayed on me and worked with me countless hours and I couldn’t thank him more for that! I moved to Florida for a year and he never lost contact. He always went out of his way to check up on me and make sure I was doing what I was supposed to both on and off the field. After my father passed away, he became more of a role model for me and he helped me earn a scholarship to play football at Fayetteville State University.
Skye Croskey
Coach Coffee began working with my youngest son Skye after coaching my older son in high school and guiding him to win back to back state championships and MVP of the 2nd one. Coach Coffee is gritty, hardworking, and doesn’t shy away from telling kids exactly what they need to hear. He is a great young coach and trainer and he has helped Skye become one of the most sought out athletes playing 10U football in the DMV.

Youth players
Working with kids1. Introduction & Warm-Up • Icebreaker: Ask players what they already know about football (positions, teams, rules). • Dynamic warm-up: High knees, butt kicks, lunges, side shuffles, and short sprints to get bodies loose. ⸻ 2. Basic Rules & Field Layout • Show them the field (end zones, sidelines, hash marks). • Explain the objective: move the ball down the field to score a touchdown. • Teach the downs system (4 tries to get 10 yards). • Quick overview of offense vs defense. ⸻ 3. Positions & Roles Keep it simple: • QB – throws or hands off. • RB – runs the ball. • WR – catches passes. • OL – blocks. • DL/LB/DB – try to stop the offense. ⸻ 4. Fundamental Skills Introduce these with short drills: • Stance & Start – proper ready position. • Ball Handling – how to hold, handoff, and tuck the ball. • Throwing Mechanics – grip, step, and follow through. • Catching – diamond/hands technique. ⸻ 5. Simple Drill Work • QB → WR throws: short routes (slant, hitch). • Hand-off drill: practice mesh between QB and RB. • Relay races: carrying the ball while keeping it tucked in. ⸻ 6. Wrap-Up • Quick review of what they learned. • End with a fun scrimmage or competition (like who can throw/catch the farthest, or a short 5-on-5 two-hand touch). • Close with encouragement and a team breakdown/huddle (builds unity).
