About your golf coach
Note: Not affiliated with Overland Park Golf Course I am a 53-year-old 2.5 handicap player who has been playing competitive golf since I was 5. I have been involved in the golf world all my life. My dad played professionally for a few years, and I have most recently been a mentor for the First Tee’s Watson Links program, where I have been working with kids of various ages and skill levels. My philosophy is to help people make their swing work better, not to make them swing like me.

Your first lessonDetermine where you really need most work and start there. Certain clubs you struggle with? Approach shots? Where are you losing strokes?

Lesson 2-3Continue work on trouble clubs but start talking about how to think your way around the course. You don’t always have to hit 300 yard drives!

Working with kidsAll depends on the individual and their natural swing. I work with their natural swing. I don’t try to make them swing like me or anyone else
