About your golf coach

I’m a certified golf instructor with GLE in conjunction with the David Leadbetter golf Academy. And have over 50 years experience working with players at all levels During our first session, we will talk about your goals and aspirations. Regardless your level of play, we will cover the basics, grip set up posture and the 11 key fundamentals of the golf swing. Once I observe your swing, I will make recommendations to cure any faults and provide you drills to work on, on your own time. Moving forward in subsequent sessions we will endeavor to go over the complete game and get into shot shaping, the long game, short game, pitching chipping bunker play and putting. All of my lessons will be conducted using a flight scope launch monitor with pro-package and face impact, data and video analysis will be provided. Let’s get you playing your best golf ever, whether it be for personal enjoyment or competition. I look forward to working with you and earning your trust as your instructor / coach

Rick took me on as a beginner at age 45 and through 1 session a month and a lot of practice working on drills he provided enabled me to go from scores of over 100 to breaking 80 in my first season.

My Grandfather knows what he is doing. Helped me turn my 120 score into just breaking 80 with a 79 not too long ago. Definitely give him a shot. Proud of my 18 year old grandsons accomplishment. Dylan is a talented athlete but his focus in high school was football and lacrosse. After graduation we spent time working on his game and when I opened my studio we spent a few long sessions. He is now in the 3% of golfers to break 80.

I had a great session with Rick. We were members at the same Country Club and I remember all the members always asking Rick for advice. He shared his knowledge for free as an amateur to retain amateur status. When I found out he opened his studio I gave him a call and set up a session and he helped me with early extension and my over the top move with drills and a game plan. He pointed out a couple basic flaws that no other pro shared with me after many lessons. Went to the range the day after and started striping it. Excited to play again.

I haven't played in many years, so went to visit Rick to start re-training. He is wonderful!! So much knowledge, and great training methods. The simulator is a great tool for analyzing where I need work (everywhere for me!!) and his patience and way he explains everything and demonstrates makes this a wonderful 're-learning' experience. I highly recommend Rick and his golf studio !!!
Beginner training plan
Your first lessonIn our first session we will cover basic fundamentals. Grip, posture, alignment and the 11 positions of the golf swing. We will assess your capabilities in the full swing. We will also discuss your clubs to make sure they fit. Grip size, length, lie, shaft flex etc. Drills to take with you will be provided
Lesson 11+We should at this point have a complete understanding of golf swing mechanics and will continue to build structure. We will cover the mental side of the game as well.
Lesson 4-10We will go through your bag club by club, checking club face impact, angle of attack and low point We will cover what causes early extension, over the top issues and start gapping your club distances and cover how to play from various lies. Bunker play and the short game will be introduced along with shot shaping. Depending on your progress from lessons 1 through 3.
Lesson 2-3We will build on lesson one by again covering fundamentals and work on swing path and plane to get you to make solid contract and work on direction and distance control. We will again continue to work on the 11 key positions of the golf swing and talk about rules of golf and proper scoring and etiquette on the course. Depending on time those discussions may be moved to lesson 4 and forward
