I loved the clear direction Sterling provided throughout the lesson. The instructions were easy to follow and helped improve my game step by step. If you’re thinking about taking a golf lesson, Sterling’s approach is a great place to start. The session was engaging and left me eager to keep practicing and learning more. Highly recommend giving it a try! ⛳🙂

Honestly, Sterling's instruction really resonated with my goals, and I appreciated how well they understood what I was aiming for. Still, I think similar results could help me keep progressing, and I might just need more lessons to solidify what we started. Just, you know, keeping things consistent would be great.
Brayden
Sterling is absolutely phenomenal. He recently gave our 10-year-old son, Brayden, his first golf lesson, and we were blown away by the experience. Not only did Sterling explain everything in a way that was easy for Brayden to understand, but he also kept him engaged, encouraged, and excited the entire time. Brayden went from barely knowing how to hold a club to consistently making solid contact—and most importantly, he left the lesson smiling from ear to ear, already asking when the next one would be. Sterling’s patience, energy, and ability to connect with young learners is a gift. If you’re looking for someone to teach your child the game of golf and build their confidence along the way, I can’t recommend him highly enough!

I’ve been playing golf for a long time and figured I’d book a lesson with Sterling just to make a small adjustment or two. Well… turns out I needed a little more than that—and I’m glad I found him! Sterling was respectful of my experience, but he also wasn’t afraid to point out a few habits that had been holding me back for years. His eye for detail is sharp, and his ability to explain things in a way that actually clicks is even better. We worked through some swing mechanics and tempo issues I didn’t even realize I had. After just a couple lessons, I’m hitting the ball cleaner and more consistently than I have in a long time. If you’re an older guy like me who thinks he knows his swing—go see Sterling. A few good changes can go a long way.

I signed up for lessons with Sterling because I was tired of being the only one in the group who couldn’t keep up on the course. Let me tell you… after a few sessions, that is no longer the case! Sterling is an incredible coach—he breaks things down in a way that actually makes sense, corrects you without making you feel dumb, and hypes you up the whole time. I started out barely making contact and now I’m hitting solid, straight shots—and yes, I’ve officially outdriven a few of the guys in my group 😉. The lessons were equal parts fun and focused, and I looked forward to every one of them. If you’re a woman thinking about picking up golf or just wanting to sharpen your game to surprise the fellas—Sterling is 100% the coach you want in your corner!

Highly Recommend – Sterling Makes Golf Make Sense! As someone completely new to golf, I was honestly a little nervous going into my first lesson. But Sterling made me feel at ease right away. He broke everything down in a way that was easy to understand—no pressure, just progress. We started with the basics like grip and stance, and by the end of the hour, I was making solid contact and actually feeling confident about my swing. What really stood out was how encouraging and patient he was. He met me at my level, celebrated the small wins, and made it fun the whole time. If you’re just starting out and want someone who’s both knowledgeable and genuinely cares about helping you get better, Sterling is your guy. Can’t wait for lesson two! — Jeremiah R.

Beginner training plan
Your first lessonFor our first 1-on-1 lesson, the goal is to build a solid foundation while keeping it fun and encouraging. We’ll start with a quick warm-up and chat to get a feel for your goals and experience. Then, we’ll dive into the core fundamentals—grip, stance, and posture—so you can start swinging with confidence. From there, we’ll work on half-swings using a 7-iron to dial in contact and tempo before progressing to full swings. I’ll introduce a couple of simple drills to help reinforce balance and rhythm, and we’ll wrap up with a quick recap and a couple of practice tips you can take with you. My goal is for you to leave feeling confident, motivated, and excited to come back for more.
Lesson 11+Lesson 11 – From Practice to Performance: Course Management & Mental Execution Now that your swing, short game, and putting fundamentals are in place, it’s time to start thinking like a golfer—not just hitting balls, but playing the game. In this session, we’ll focus on how to manage a golf course: club selection, shot planning, risk vs. reward decisions, and how to mentally approach each hole. You’ll learn how to play to your strengths, avoid compounding mistakes, and stay mentally clear after a bad shot. We’ll simulate course scenarios on the range or get out on the course for 3–6 holes, working through real-time decisions, aiming strategies, and target-focused thinking. From this point forward, we’re shifting from “learning how to swing” to “learning how to score.” ⸻ This lesson marks the pivot into developing a complete player—someone who doesn’t just swing well but thinks well under pressure. From here, future lessons can get more personalized: dialing in distances, shaping shots, preparing for competitive play, or playing full-course rounds with feedback.
Lesson 4-10Lesson 4 – Putting Fundamentals We’ll shift focus to the green and cover putting grip, stance, alignment, and stroke. You’ll learn how to read basic breaks, control distance, and develop a consistent routine. We’ll finish with simple putting drills to build muscle memory and confidence on the greens. ⸻ Lesson 5 – Bunker Basics & Specialty Shots This week is all about getting comfortable in uncomfortable spots. We’ll cover bunker technique—stance, open clubface, and swing path—and then introduce low punch shots and high soft shots around the green. It’s a fun way to unlock creativity and shot control. ⸻ Lesson 6 – On-Course Strategy (or Simulated Course Play) Now that you’re developing your full game, we’ll begin working on shot selection, club decision-making, and basic course strategy. You’ll learn when to play aggressive vs. smart, and how to mentally approach each hole. If we’re on the range, we’ll simulate different lies and scenarios. ⸻ Lesson 7 – Swing Refinement & Video Feedback We’ll record your swing (if possible) and break it down together to highlight strengths and key areas to refine. We’ll focus on rhythm, rotation, and sequencing to help your swing feel more fluid and repeatable. Small adjustments, big results. ⸻ Lesson 8 – Trouble Shots & Uneven Lies In this lesson, we’ll train for real-life situations like hitting from uphill/downhill lies, sidehill stances, or behind obstacles. You’ll learn how to adjust setup and expectations, building adaptability and problem-solving skills. ⸻ Lesson 9 – Practice Routine & Pressure Play You’ll learn how to build an effective solo practice routine to accelerate your progress. We’ll also simulate pressure situations (like 3-ball challenges or “up-and-down” drills) to help you stay focused and composed when it counts. ⸻ Lesson 10 – Playing Lesson or Skills Assessment We’ll either head out for a short on-course session or run through a structured skills assessment covering full swings, short game, and putting. You’ll see just how far you’ve come, and we’ll talk about your next steps to keep improving and enjoying the game.
Lesson 2-3Lesson 2 – Building Consistency & Introducing the Short Game We’ll start by reviewing and reinforcing grip, stance, and swing fundamentals from Lesson 1. Then we’ll focus on improving ball contact and consistency with your irons, working on smooth tempo and proper follow-through. In the second half, I’ll introduce chipping fundamentals—covering setup, club selection, and basic technique—so you can begin developing touch around the green. ⸻ Lesson 3 – Distance Control & Driving Fundamentals In this session, we’ll introduce longer clubs, including fairway woods and the driver. I’ll help you understand ball position, launch angle, and how to generate controlled power without sacrificing accuracy. We’ll also work on distance control with mid-irons, helping you get a feel for different swing lengths and shot shapes. If time allows, we’ll revisit chipping to reinforce confidence close to the green.

Advanced training plan
Your first lessonAt this level, the swing is already built—now the battle is between the ears. In this first advanced session, we’ll focus on self-awareness: how your thoughts, emotions, and identity shape performance. We’ll observe your routine, your self-talk, and the way you respond to failure or pressure—not to fix, but to understand. This lesson isn’t about swing changes; it’s about alignment between your mind, body, and intention. You’ll begin to see how golf reflects life: the need for focus amidst distraction, grace after a mistake, and calm confidence in chaos. From this point on, it’s less about mechanics—and more about mastering the space between shots, just like the space between life’s moments. What you carry inside the ropes, you carry into the world.
Lesson 11+Lesson 11+ – Mastery & Meaning: The Game Beyond the Game At this level, the lesson isn’t just about golf—it’s about who you are when no one’s watching. We’re no longer chasing better swings; we’re refining habits, sharpening awareness, and elevating mindset. Every shot is now an opportunity to practice patience, purpose, and presence. This stage is about sustaining peak performance through internal alignment—maintaining focus in the face of success and failure, grounding yourself when things are good, and anchoring to truth when things are hard. Golf becomes your mirror. You don’t just play better—you live better. Because by now, you understand: how you do one thing is how you do everything.
Lesson 4-10Lesson 4 – Pressure & Poise: Training the Clutch Moment Anyone can hit a great shot when it doesn’t matter. This lesson is about performing when it does. We’ll simulate pressure situations—first tee nerves, must-make putts, tough recovery shots—and train your ability to stay calm, focused, and present. You’ll learn to breathe through tension, stay in rhythm, and execute under fire. Because in both golf and life, pressure doesn’t build character—it reveals it. ⸻ Lesson 5 – Reframing Failure: Response Over Result Today’s lesson leans into adversity. Bad shots, bad breaks, and bad rounds will happen. The power is in how you respond. We’ll evaluate your internal reaction to failure and train new mental patterns to turn setbacks into setups. You’ll begin to detach your identity from performance—knowing that one swing doesn’t define your ability, just like one moment doesn’t define your worth. This is mental resilience in motion. ⸻ Lesson 6 – Tempo, Trust & the Flow State Here, we focus on tempo—not just in your swing, but in your mind. You’ll learn how rhythm unlocks trust, and how overthinking disrupts natural movement. We’ll strip away unnecessary swing thoughts and help you find your flow: quiet mind, smooth tempo, full commitment. This is where you stop “trying” and start allowing. Golf gets quiet. Life does too. ⸻ Lesson 7 – Ownership: Your Process, Your Standard We build autonomy now. You’ll define your pre-shot routine, post-shot reflection, practice structure, and emotional benchmarks. This is your blueprint—no longer copying what others do, but owning what works for you. In golf and life, freedom comes from structure. You’ll leave this lesson with clarity on what your personal standard is, and the accountability to uphold it. ⸻ Lesson 8 – Shot Shaping, Creativity & Imagination We reconnect with play. This lesson is about freedom and creativity—cut shots, high draws, low stingers, even intentional misses. You’ll learn to express yourself through shot-making, problem-solving, and visualization. When you start playing with intention and creativity, golf becomes less robotic and more alive. This mirrors life’s deeper truth: routine builds consistency, but creativity makes it meaningful. ⸻ Lesson 9 – Playing the Course, Not the Swing Now we transition fully from the range to the course. We’ll work on strategy, club selection, and adapting to real-time situations. You’ll learn to let go of your swing thoughts and focus entirely on the shot in front of you. This is about trusting your preparation and executing with clarity. Because just like life, the plan doesn’t matter if you can’t apply it under pressure. ⸻ Lesson 10 – Integration & Identity: The Golfer You’ve Become In our final advanced session, we’ll reflect on the transformation—mentally, emotionally, and physically. You’ll revisit your personal standards, routines, and growth moments. We’ll challenge you to define who you are now—not just as a golfer, but as a man of focus, discipline, and peace under pressure. Golf will continue to test you—but now, you know how to respond. You don’t just play the game… you carry the mindset.
Lesson 2-3Lesson 2 – Emotional Control & the Power of the Present In this session, we’ll dig into emotional regulation—how frustration, fear, or overthinking disrupt rhythm and decision-making. You’ll learn how to use breath, routine, and intentional focus to anchor yourself to the present moment. We’ll work through pressure drills designed to trigger those emotions so you can recognize and reshape your response. The goal isn’t perfection—it’s emotional clarity. Just like in life, your reaction shapes your result. Calm doesn’t mean soft—it means controlled, dangerous, and decisive. ⸻ Lesson 3 – Visualization, Identity & Shot Commitment Now we focus on belief. Every shot starts in the mind before it’s ever executed physically. You’ll learn how to visualize your shots with intention—seeing, feeling, and committing fully before you swing. We’ll address lingering doubts or hesitations, because an uncommitted swing is no different than a half-hearted decision in life. We’ll also explore identity—are you approaching this game as the same player you were, or the one you’re becoming? The swing follows belief. And belief begins with clarity.
