Beginner training plan
Your first lessonYour first lesson will be a relaxed introduction. Golf can feel a bit intimidating at first, so while you warm up, we’ll talk about your past experience (if any) and go over your goals. Whether you want to keep up with friends, impress coworkers, or just enjoy the game, I’ll help you look like you’ve been playing for years. At the end of the lesson, we’ll review your progress, answer any questions, and I’ll give you 2–3 simple drills to practice in your own time.
Lesson 2-3Now that you’re getting more comfortable with a golf club in hand, we’ll review how the drills went and go over any questions you have. I’ll also show you how to track your stats, whether you’re on the course or using a simulator so we can spot and improve any problem areas.
Lesson 4-10First, I’ll answer any questions you have from recent practice or rounds. Now that you’re starting to understand the golf swing, I’ll teach you how to handle different on-course situations and play a round without stress. Golf is 85% mental, and with my background in sports psychology, I’ll help you build confidence and stay focused from the first tee to the last putt.
Lesson 11+At this stage, we’re no longer focused on simply learning the fundamentals, we’re refining them. Your grip, posture, and swing mechanics should feel more natural, and we’ll work on fine-tuning any small flaws.
• Consistency & Control: You’ll start focusing more on consistency. Hitting solid shots more often, controlling ball flight, and understanding your tendencies.
• Course Strategy: We’ll spend time talking about how to manage your way around a course. When to be aggressive, when to play it safe, and how to recover from mistakes.
• Pressure Drills: To simulate real golf scenarios, you might do drills with some light pressure or targets in mind, prepping you for actual play with friends or in casual tournaments.
• Tracking & Feedback: You’ll be learning how to interpret your stats (simulator or on-course), and using that information to guide practice more independently.
• Short Game Integration: If not already covered in depth, we’ll revisit or dive deeper into pitching, chipping, and putting which are all essential skills for lowering scores. I’m sure you’ve heard the saying “Drive for show and putt for dough💰”
• Mental Focus: Expect more advanced guidance on routine, staying calm under pressure, and maintaining focus throughout a round, pulling from sports psychology techniques.
