Robin
Rob is the best musician I know, both technically and artistically. He knows everything about music and can play anything. He can also improvise and transpose on the spot. Rob is also cheerful, kind and very patient with kids and adults alike. And you will never find a more reliable person who loves what he does.
Shirley
Rob is a top-notch teacher. He is also kind, patient and super-talented. He knows a variety of musical styles and can teach both nylon and steel string guitar. His students range in age from 6 to 60+. I have been studying with him since 2012 and I continue to progress each week. I recommend him wholeheartedly!
Bryan Lorenz
"Rob has been such a powerful influence on my playing, and has helped me progress over the years as a performer and now as a teacher myself..."
Father Bill Brady, Pastor, Archdiocedse of San Francisco
"Rob Grant's combination of skills as a performer, teacher and composer have left an indelible mark on our parish community here..."
Michael G
"Rob's teaching has had an amazingly positive impact already--and I am always looking forward to our next lesson!"

Beginner training plan
Your first lessonThe first lesson would begin with an assessment of the students present skill, level, and general, musical knowledge… This would give me as your teacher a starting point to begin with!
Lesson 11+ Having established a firm foundation, we can move forward to develop finesse, style, and technique…
Lesson 4-10Once certain fundamentals have been established, I will help the student move from basics to more extensive and challenging playing
Lesson 2-3Gaining a basic sense of music principles and playing technique would be the best way to start… Even during the first lesson, we can start with elementary songs to play… From there, we will go onto more complex, but still doable Music pieces!

What you need to bringNo equipment is necessary… But bringing the particular sheet music for the pieces you are liking to learn, that would be helpful!

What I can bringWhile I do have extra guitars here at my studio, it might make sense sense to bring your own instrument with which you are most comfortable… But either way is fine!
