About your guitar coach

If you’re looking to learn one of the many musical or production/engineering skills I’ve learned over the years I’m happy to help! I love sharing my knowledge and skills with students who are willing to put in the work to learn their craft. Making music and playing musical instruments are difficult skills to learn, especially on your own. Hiring a coach can save you years of banging your head against the wall, questioning every decision that has only lead you to mediocre results that makes even your mom question where she went wrong as a parent. Good news is there is hope! You know you don’t know what you don’t know and you aren’t lying to yourself, therefore, you are capable of learning and being coached. David is a thoughtful music teacher. He's patient, but also firm. He works with the student's musical interests and meets them where they are. He gives things to work on in between lessons, but progress happens even if the student doesn't "practice". David is dedicated to keeping the love of music alive in the student. He was our son's guitar teacher for over 5 years, helping our son launch a band, and learn how to produce music. The only reason we stopped lessons is because our son went away to college. We highly recommend David!

So far, my son has learned ukulele and acoustic guitar from David. My son is now 9, but started just before he was 8. David is such a great teacher! He is enthusiastic, patient, and always encouraging. Learning an instrument and all the parts of music are hard, especially for younger kids who just want to play. The way he taught, my son could play some songs pretty quickly, so it feels like the payoff happens a little quicker. The rest is up to how much they practice. He picks songs that are to the kids' interest, so that is also motivating. I would 100% recommend him to anyone looking to learn music!

Beginner training plan
Your first lessonWe start with choosing a song you want to learn how to play. You’ll give me a list of 5 songs and I’ll decide which one will be the best to start with. I want to get you a quick win so I’ll pick an “easy” one to start.
Lesson 2-3This will be completely dependent on the student and their individual needs. Each student’s trajectory will be different and will be assessed independently and during the process.
Advanced training plan
Your first lessonThis will completely depend on each individual student’s needs and will be evaluated on a per case basis.
Youth players
Working with kidsEach student learns at their own pace and according to their interests. That means they get to choose the songs they want to learn! I will give practice regimens but it’s up to them to practice consistently in order to see progress.
Working with teenagersEach student learns at their own pace and according to their interests. That means they get to choose the songs they want to learn! I will give practice regimens but it’s up to them to practice consistently in order to see progress. With teenagers I will (gently) push them a bit harder than I would younger kids. As a coach it is part of my responsibility to prepare them for adulthood where more is expected of them.

If you need to cancel your lesson, no worries! You can get a full refund if you cancel within 24 hours of making your booking. We want to make the process as hassle-free as possible for you.

And if you simply want to reschedule your lesson, change the date and time, or adjust the number of students joining, we've got you covered there too. You can easily make these changes within 24 hours of booking, and up to 72 hours before your lesson starts.
