About your guitar coach
As a professional musician and seasoned guitarist, I bring 16 years of experience to my teaching. My passion is to cultivate a deep appreciation and skill for the guitar by deepening my student's understanding of music in the simplest and easiest to understand terms and methods, focusing on getting the most out of your time with the instrument, as well as learning methods for improvisation as well as incorporating vocals to your playing. My studies include jazz, folk, classical, Brazilian, rock, blues, neo-soul/r&b, and hip-hop, for which I have a project where I play guitar and rap.

Beginner training plan
Your first lessonThe first lesson is about knowing the strings of the guitar, how to tune it, and basic chord shapes as well as learning how to find and play beginner songs using those shapes.
Lesson 11+At this point, I would say you're looking for more advanced material such as jazz or classical, and the focus would revolve around particular players or composers that you aspire to sound and compose like, and to learn their methods. This would involve more reading, transcribing, and improvisation, both as a rhythm and lead guitarist.
Lesson 4-10Now the exercises would become more advanced and personalized, focusing on how to maximize your engagement mentally with your practice routines. The goal would be to shape exercises and learn repotoire that resemble the style you wish to master, as well as fine-tuning any technique that needs adjusting.
Lesson 2-3At this point, I would progress to learning harmony, melody, and rhythm concepts and learning how to understand the neck of the guitar through theory, chordal, and scale exercises, and focus on learning a song or two that peaks your interest, regardless of difficulty level, as I find there are many ways to simplify a song if need be, which can add to the motive of wanting to learn more advanced methods. The main focus here is to get you into the habit of playing and building the muscles while keeping your mind engaged.
