I met Graham in college and knew he was going to be successful in the music industry. Fast forward 5 years, and he’s already making massive strides in the production world! It was a honor to learn from him.

Dude this man KNOWS his stuff when it comes to chord knowledge and phrasing. I wanted to learn some John Mayer style playing, and we went over Gravity for a solid 2 weeks until I could grasp his technique. Solid dude.

I never thought that I would be able to play guitar at a beginner level, but Graham made it surprisingly easy! He’s awesome at making complex things seem simple.
Madison Montes
Lessons were perfect, I learned a lot and he made it fun!

Graham really helped me get ready for my first ever acoustic tour! I wanted to learn some closed position, open string chord shapes to make sure my guitar sounded full and clean. He also fixed my problem with muting certain strings haha. I feel confident stepping on stage knowing that my technique is muscle memory, and I can just focus on enjoying the moment. Incredible guy.

Beginner training plan
Your first lessonFirst lesson is always free! My goal is to make everyone feel as comfortable and inspired as possible. Parents or guardians can feel free to stay through the lesson. I discover what they are inspired by, and play a live demonstration of their favorite artist. Every student follows a custom lesson plan catered directly to their needs and playing style, so the first lesson is when we begin to breakdown the trajectory of lessons 2-10.
Lesson 11+After lesson 10, the student has enough knowledge of their instrument to decide what kind of style/genre they would like to progress in. Making sure to continually teach proper technique and theory along the way, I guide them through playing styles of their choice!
Lesson 4-10This is where I start to introduce a little more technique and theory mastery. I take the ‘anchor’ method and apply it to the key of C, teaching them not only new chord shapes and finger positioning but also the ability to see how different key signatures interact using the Nashville Number system (NNS). This system is used by every single prominent musician in Nashville, and all over the US. Like learning a language, it’s important to link these parts of the brain early on. By lesson 10, the student will have either shifted to learning bar chords and major scales (electric) or learning a 1-4-5-6 progression in the key of G,C,D,A, and E using several different strumming patterns and picking patterns (acoustic).
Lesson 2-3If teaching a beginner, lesson two will almost always consist of the ‘anchor’ technique, where I show them how to anchor their pinky and ring finger to play a basic 1-4 (G/C) progression in the key of G. It might sound complicated for a first exercise but 100% of my students have been able to grasp it! By the end of lesson 3, the student can play a 1-4-5-6 (GCDEm) progression in the key of G with 2 different strumming patterns. As important as theory and technique is, keeping students inspired and eager to learn always takes top priority for me.

Advanced training plan
Your first lessonI will gladly teach advanced players in the following genres: funk, worship, R&B, pop. These are all areas in which I play at a professional level.

Youth players
Working with kidsParents are always welcome to my studio during sessions! My wife and I’s house is in a safe area in Green hills, and we always have cameras and an open door policy. I used to work at a summer camp and have taught kids before. I’m careful to not push them if they aren’t grasping a concept, and pivot to something they feel inspired by. At this age, exploration and excitement are more important than anything I could ever teach them.

Working with teenagersAgain, I always have an open door policy and take special care to never bog them down with information! We may even take the first lesson to try out all of my guitars and see which one they want to play for lessons! While making sure to push them to their fullest potential, I’m more laid back compared to my teaching an adult.

What you need to bringYou don’t need to bring anything to my studio!

What I can bringI have over 20 guitars to choose from, not to mention amps, pedals, and tons of other fun gear. My studio equipment is extensive!
