Right away I could tell John was very knowledgeable and passionate about all things music. He was kind and walked me through the fundamentals when we first started, his down to earth sense of humor and humbleness helped to break the ice. I meet with John once a week to hone my skills at my place (yes he does house calls) and I couldn’t be more satisfied with my progress. He gives me simple yet effective exercises to work on between our lessons which have been a huge help. I never thought I would be able to advance as quickly as I have. If John can help me I have no doubt he can help others far more advanced then myself. I’m writing this review because I admire him for his work ethic and commitment to my success. Not only is he a great teacher but he’s also a great guy. If you’re looking for someone to help you advance your skills, look no further.

John is a phenomenal teacher for both guitar technique and music theory. As an adult student coming back to guitar after a long hiatus, John got me back to where I want to be with my guitar playing quickly and with no frustration. He helped me break down the theory behind the tabs I was playing which really improved my appreciation for the instrument. With John’s instruction, I am more excited to play than ever before. For working adults, his flexibility with remote lessons is a huge benefit. I can’t recommend music lessons with John enough.

We looked for a long time to find a guitar instructor for our 8 year old. He has been seeing him once a week for 3 or 4 months and our boy loves it. It's been really cool to see him actually able to play a song, he even did it in front of others at a mini recital. Super happy with our choice.

Working with John is always excellent. He is very knowledgeable in not only guitar, but also piano and music theory. He always takes the time to answer any and all questions no matter how complicated or easy the answer is. I highly recommend to any level of student!
