Specializations

🎯Offensive Strategy
🎯Ground Balls
🎯Shooting
🎯Stick Skills

Beginner training plan
Your first trainingTeach how to hold a stick/ pick up a ground ball. Then move onto how to catch and throw- how hands should be on stick and throwing/ catching mechanisms
Training 2-3Continue to work on ground balls/ fundamentals of stickwork- depending on progress possibly try non dominant hand stick skills
Training 4-10Progress stickwork in burg hands and teach fundamental rules of lacrosse for age group- move to working on dodging/shooting/defensive footwork to prepare them for real game play
Training 11+Expand upon stickwork (always an important part of the game) and start to introduce lax IQ- how to cut/ become a part of a defensive unit using skills learned in earlier weeks

Advanced training plan
Your first trainingStart with stickwork (important at every level) and gauge knowledge of lacrosse IQ.
Training 2-3Work on specific skills that are requested- could be anything from stickwork, offensive/defensive footwork, dodging, shooting etc.
Training 4-10Grow on specified areas- introduce more lax IQ and more advanced stickwork/ shooting/ footwork drills
Training 11+Continue to improve on lacrosse basics while also incorporating more creative shooting/footwork/defensive and offensive minded drills.

Youth players
Working with kidsI try to make my lessons fun and understandable with kids. The worst thing you can do as a youth coach is make lacrosse feel like a job. Kids can have fun and learn a lot about lacrosse without it feeling like a chore!

Working with teenagersKeep the energy up and listen to what they would like to work on. Stickwork will always be #1 for me because I have seen how important it is in high school and college lacrosse. Listening to requests and teaching them what they are excited to learn but also need to learn to be successful is key!

What you need to bringTheir stick a few balls!

What I can bringMy own stick and cones
