About your piano coach
Music is a journey, and I'm passionate about guiding students from youth to adult. As a pianist with 8 years of experience and performance experience learning at Oakland Community College, Ibring a deep understanding of technique and artistry to every lesson. I am continuing my learning at Wayne State University to obtain my BA in Music. I’ve been teaching for almost 3 years and I’ve enjoyed being able to show people how to learn a new skill. Beginner training plan
Your first lessonFirst lessons are a way for the student and the teacher to learn more about each other. I will ask questions about prior lessons or if you have any musical background. I am open to any questions or goals you might have. From then we will start with key recognition, sigh reading, and starting a small song to get comfortable playing piano more.
Lesson 4-10By now sight reading skills should be passed beginner. Scales are now being taught fully and we are learning more about notes values, theory, and obtaining more knowledge by learning different songs.
Lesson 2-3We will be continuing on with more sight reading and learning more repertoire. Depending on comprehensions we may start to talk about scales/chords and working with pedal.
