About your piano coach

Located in Burbank. Able to teach at student home within 10 miles. I teach piano from basic theory to composition and performance, tailoring lessons to each student’s level. With 18 years of teaching experience, I focus on building strong technique, musicality, and creativity in a supportive and structured way. Lessons include a mix of exercises, repertoire, and composition projects to suit each student’s goals.

Beginner training plan
Your first lessonI will first access your current level and abilities including music theory. Then, create personalized lessons tailored to your goals. Your lessons will be designed to fit your daily schedule, ensuring steady piano progress that works for you. There will be both written and playing exercises.
Lesson 11+Play pieces more fluently with both hands. Start practicing sight reading and ear training. Major / minor scales. Play with metronome and patterns. More chord progressions. - Harmony Performance techniques. Complex pieces.
Lesson 4-10Strengthening finger techniques. Playing simple melodies with both hands. Able to play and identify Notes and simple chord progression. Major Scales. Theory : Time signatures, bpm, rhythms and more.
Lesson 2-3Introduction to basic piano skills and exercises. Identify Notes including hearing and names. Able to write it. Finger position and posture. Simple scales and melodies. Read and play simple notes and rhythms.

Advanced training plan
Your first lessonUnderstand your current skills through a short test : Ear training and basic aural skills. Composition, Improvisation Sight reading Harmony and music theory basics Discussion on your goals.s
Lesson 11+Advance theory : Harmony, chord progression, analysis of scores. Compose short piece. Advance finger exercises: Scales, Arpeggios Introducing to modes.
Lesson 4-10Learning pieces. Focus on performance skills. Phrasing, dynamic, tonal etc. Sight reading and ear training exercises. Advance harmony music theory
Lesson 2-3Scales, Arpeggios - Warm up with metronome (Major, Minor) Simple chords. Control of dynamics. Mastering simple scales and arpeggios. Choose your repertoire.

Youth players
Working with kidsPlayful and engaging methods : Games (using hands on activities.) Visual, colours exercises. Short break to keep up the attention. Rewards to keep motivation high. (based on achievements)
