I am very grateful to find Cai as my piano teacher. I have been practicing piano since I was 3 and it has been 25 years now. I've had at least 10 piano teachers in my life, and Cai is truly the best piano teacher in my life. I've always been struggling with stiffness in my arms when I practice, which really shouldn't supposed to be, but none of my previous piano teachers could really help solve that for me.
However, Cai was able to point that out right away in our first lessons, and with enough practice and her guidance, my stiffness went away! Cai is really professional and helpful, and truly wants the best of all her students! Hiahly recommended!

Beginner training plan
Your first lessonMy purpose for the1st lesson is to help students Understand piano sound + feeling (wrist lift + drop)
Before the class begins, it is crucial for the teacher not to dive headlong into the teaching process without any preliminary engagement. Initiating instruction in a completely unfamiliar context should be avoided, as it may cause children to feel constrained and unable to express their personality traits freely. From the my perspective, this approach would necessitate additional time to discern the children's learning habits and personalities within the class, which could be counterproductive for subsequent teaching. From the parents' standpoint, such an abrupt start might come across as rigid, potentially leading them to question whether the teacher has a coherent teaching methodology or effective ways of interacting with the children.

Understanding the Keyboard: I explain that the black ones are the black keys and the white ones are the white keys. At this point, an interactive game can be introduced: "If the teacher says 'black key,' you quickly place your hand on a black key; if the teacher says 'white key,' you quickly place your hand on a white key." This game is very simple but effectively helps students quickly get into the learning state.
Part2
Understanding Pitch: The teacher randomly plays sounds from the high, middle, and low registers, asking students to describe each with a different animal. This step can help assess the children's imaginative tendencies and whether they possess a certain sense of musicality.
