About your pickleball coach

I've been playing pickleball since I was 8 years old, and over the years, it's become more than just a sport—it's a passion. With over 3 years of coaching experience, I love helping players of all levels grow their game, whether you're a total beginner, or an experienced player looking to sharpen your strategy and technique. Over the years I’ve won multiple 4.5-5.0 level gold medals, and coached many students to high level tournament success. I am currently Head Pro at Urban Pickleball, an indoor club in downtown Seattle, and I offer private coaching on the side. Let’s hit the courts and take your pickleball skills to the next level!

What stood out during the lesson with Daniel was the perfect balance of information to help build solid habits since I’m a beginner. The pace and focus helped keep everything clear and manageable. If you want to improve your pickleball game with practical guidance, Daniel’s lessons are definitely worth trying. My serve is so much better after just one lesson. 😊

That lesson really helped me spot my strengths and weaknesses, with clear cues to build on , and I’m eager for more of the same as Daniel guides the plan.

Daniel’s session clicked for me, turning Pertinent information regarding the game into actionable insight that stuck from the first rally. The highlight gave practical context I’ll actually use, and the pacing with more training time feels like the natural next step I’m eager to pursue. I’ve left with clear adjustments and a confident shot repertoire, and I’m already looking forward to the next lesson. This calm, focused approach makes Maestro’s coaching a solid pick for continued growth.

Daniel is a fantastic coach. Very patient and encouraging. All of his drills are fun and feed back is very good. I can’t wait to continue with my next lesson. And very highly recommended whatever your level is

Beginner training plan
Your first lessonThe first lesson with a beginner will oftentimes be going over the rules of the game, explaining basic grips and shots, and some light dinking with the coach to get a better idea of your overall skill level.
Lesson 11+Past this stage, lessons will be testing how well you can put all the pieces together with coach feedback. At this stage you will be well on your way to 4.0 or 4.0.
Lesson 4-10Once the student has improved in these areas, we will go over advanced strategy, drives, speedups, and counters.
Lesson 2-3After lesson 1, I like to introduce serves, returns, and the drop shot into the teaching. These are all fundamental shots that will be essential to any student’s success.

Advanced training plan
Your first lessonMany of my advanced students have already played several tournaments, and know the basics of the game. So lesson one would be figuring out what things are your weaknesses that you noticed during tournaments or high level rec play, and creating a roadmap to improve them.
Lesson 11+From here on, students can return to drill with the coach and for feedback, but at this point an advanced student should have all the tools to go drill with a similar level player to improve.
Lesson 4-10We will continue grinding out drills for reps with coach feedback intermittently. I will try to get the student to apply the game strategy concepts we have learned in the drill to understand how they improve their game.
Lesson 2-3For advanced players I like to jump right into drilling and advanced strategy, to see how consistent their shots are under pressure, and how good their shot selection is. Drills: 7-11, skinny singles, reset zone, dinking with speedups

Youth players
Working with kidsI have lots of experience in teaching kids! I have 3 years of experience as a summer camp counselor, and I teach elementary school pickleball at local schools in the Seattle area. Working with kids is mostly giving them the basic tools to succeed, including footwork, stroke form, and grip mechanics while keeping the learning fun!

Working with teenagersTeaching teenagers pickleball is similar to teaching kids. The most important part is to make sure that the learning is fun. As long as the basic techniques are adhered to and the client is having fun, they will always improve in skill!

What you need to bringStudents should bring comfortable closed toed shoes, water, and a paddle to play with. If a student does not have a paddle, I can provide them with a demo paddle for the lesson!

What I can bringI will bring high quality balls, nets, cones, and any other training related gear. I also bring high quality pro-grade demo paddles for students to use during any lesson!
