Shea Chavez
I have recently thought about entering a tournament with my friend and wondered if I was ready for 4.0. Denny was so positive and supportive while also giving such helpful lessons that I had the confidence to enter and medal in the 4.0 tournament just after a couple lessons!
Joshua Vallasteros
Denny was able to fix my drops and drives that I have been struggling to master for months! Ever since I entered the 4.5 level, they have been a thorn in my side and Denny was able to pinpoint and fix them almost instantly!
Lloyd Kim
Denny feels and looks very personable, making it very easy to take lessons with. He is very understanding of my son, takes into accounts his wants and needs and builds a great lesson plan to keep him engaged!
Minh Trinh
Denny is a very knowledgeable coach that was able to answer and expand on any question I had about competitive pickleball. He was able to keep me away from building bad habits while also showing me how to start building new and useful ones.
Stacey Kim
Denny was a coach like no other. He was so fun to talk to as well as taught so well! I will definitely be taking more lessons with him in the future!

Beginner training plan
Your first lessonFirst, I would try to break the ice a bit. Get to know them, introduce myself, etc. Then I would get into the rules of pickleball and simple basics like how to get the ball over the net from the kitchen line.
Lesson 11+Finally, we will introduce other shots like dinks, returns and drops so they will finally be able to join in on rec games without any fear!
Lesson 4-10We will now get in depth on the basics of a forehand and a backhand with things like grip, swing, finish, etc.
Lesson 2-3Teach them how to serve and how to make contact with the ball to be able to get it over the net from the baseline so that they will be able to play a real game of pickleball.

Advanced training plan
Your first lessonFirst, assess all the shots that the player can hit and see any major flaws. I would avoid making any major changes like grip changes and focus on quick and easy adjustments first.
Lesson 11+Finally after fixing a lot of the existing problems, we can ready for things like tournaments by practicing real games and working on game theory alongside gameplay.
Lesson 4-10We will continue to refine those major changes and put all the broken pieces together one by one until the changes can finally produce positive outcomes.
Lesson 2-3After being able to improve on the player’s game, we will start getting into the major changes like if a person’s grip is hindering their gameplay.

Youth players
Working with kidsWhile working with kids, I would make the teaching more fast paced instead of working on just one thing for an hour which can be quite boring with kids. Also, I would introduce more exciting drills with game aspects so the kids can be entertained throughout the entire session.

Working with teenagersWhen working with teenagers, I would assess the goal of each student, whether it be to improve for a tournament or gather the basic skills to play with friends! Depending on the scenario, I would either get down to the nitty gritty and focus on advanced drills or make fun and entertaining activities so they can spread the entertainment to friends!
