Hi, I'm Garrett! With over 15 years of experience instructing military students and two years dedicated to pickleball instruction, I bring a unique and effective approach to the court. My 18 years of competitive racquetball experience provide a strong foundation in racquet sports, which I leverage to enhance my pickleball coaching. I focus on both skill development and the strategic elements of pickleball, tailoring my lessons to each student's individual needs and goals. I believe in building a well-rounded game that combines technique with smart play, and some mental coaching to boot. For students seeking a more structured learning experience, I offer the option to include a detailed lesson plan and video recording of the session for review and continued improvement.

Garrett was able to break down skills in a relatable and understandable way. He was able to correct some problems I had with court positioning and my backswing. He uses great drills that reinforce what he's trying to teach and caters the lesson to you and your needs. He also did a great job with teaching partner strategy and gave excellent constructive feedback to both me and my partner. I would highly recommend Garrett as a pickleball instructor.

Review of Coach Garrett Lehman
I met Garrett a few months ago and since then have taken probably a half dozen lessons with him, including lessons by myself, with a partner and in a 2 team format. I have learned so much and gained so much from his instruction. He builds from foundational skills into more elevated skill sets, including the actual tool of the swing or movement into strategy and situational play. He does so methodically, clearly and with a wonderful positive attitude making the experience not only incredibly instructional but fun. He is always timely and gives his full effort. He is a very good communicator before the lesson, during the lesson, and in the take-away after the lesson. I have learned from a number of coaches at all sorts of level of expertise and I would put Garrett at the top of the list. He checks off all the boxes.

Garrett is an amazing pickleball coach! He's not only incredibly knowledgeable about the game but also a great communicator, explaining complex concepts in a way that's easy to understand. My game has improved significantly since I started working with him, and his positive attitude makes each session enjoyable. He provides lesson plans and video links on areas of focus for each session. He has also helped my tournament partner and I develop partner strategies, footwork and communication. Highly recommend!
Beginner training plan
Your first lessonThe first thing we will do is spend 5 minutes on a skill drill. This will allow me to analyze any potential racket or sports backgrounds you might have while learning a little about your physicality.
Lesson 11+Taking the step into intermediate level play and strategy. Taking foundational skills and adding new elements to them.
Lesson 4-10Developing core elements further, beginning to discuss common strategies. Drills to test where we are now from where we started.
Lesson 2-3Working on the basics of form development, improving on core elements of striking the ball and footwork. Rules of playing pickleball and how to start a game with friends and family.
Advanced training plan
Your first lessonDrills to determine current level in technical ability, positioning and decision-making. Discussions on weaknesses and strengths, with examples to determine future fixes.
Lesson 11+New skills/wish list of "I'd really like to have..."
Lesson 4-10Continued development of technical skills and critical-thinking application. Mental game exercises and drills designed to challenge competency.
