I’ve only had one lesson with coach so far but I’m eager to take more. He certainly kept lessons moving with the ability to pick up on our individual mistakes. Easy to get along with.

Beginner training plan
Your first lessonFind out their goals first. Explain the importance of the warm-up. to prevent injury. I will do a 5 min warm-up. I will limit to one or two strokes for group lessons, and for a private lesson, I would want to get a glimpse of all their strokes.. I will go over the different grips. Say we start drinking Forehand rallys live ball to each other down the line and cross court. Then we would typically hit volley to volley both standing behind the kitchen line. Then, I would bring one side back to the baseline working on their drives and drinks. When they show good progress, I will add the Backhand side. Then I would play a simple game. You miss you are out. The game is called Squirrel. One player is on deck and fills the of the player who misses. We are not going over scoring yet.
Lesson 11+They can start playing on their own, and with their feedback, I can help them fine tune their game to get to the next level.
Lesson 4-10Work on serves and returns and go over scoring
Lesson 2-3Repeat some of the first lesson and improve accuracy and form.

Advanced training plan
Your first lessonFocus will be more on tactics and strategy. Discuss zones of the court and share when to be in what zone. The goal is not to stay back but to go forward to the no volley zone line. I observe how they construct points. Check their balance, footwork, and paddles position
Lesson 11+Adding tactics such as switching after serve or return to keep your opponents guessing.
Lesson 4-10Get students' feedback from their league play and tournaments. Incorporate what they need to work on into a drill to get them to the next level.
Lesson 2-3I will work on specific drills such as: Dinking from nvz line Dinking from baseline How to hit an Ernie How to hit a banana serve How to hit chip return I teach them the skill, and then we play a game with it. If you have 6 or more, I like to play king of the court. As a challenger, you have to win 2 points in a row to make it to the champion side.

What you need to bringPaddles, towel, water bottle, hat/visor, sunglasses

What I can bringBalls, pick up tubes, loaner paddles
