About your pickleball coach
Having had a life long passion for racquet sports (Certified Tennis PTR coach 20+ years and national tournament player in Platform Tennis), I was delighted to discover Pickleball 10 years ago when I moved to Naples, Florida. I was fortunate enough to win the Gold Medal in my first Men’s Open Tournament at Veterans Park. A couple of years later, I also won a gold at the US Open. Competing and playing Pickleball for exercise is so exhilarating and addictive. I met so many new players along the way who have asked me to help start them safely or improve their mid level games. I truly enjoy coaching and received my Pickleball IPTPA Teachers certification in 2017.

Todd was great! He explained the rules in an easy to understand manner, provided strategies of the game and balanced the lesson well between hands-on play and instruction. He was very patient either the beginners and had a great sense of humor as well. We felt like we were playing with a friend !

Beginner training plan
Your first lessonGet ready to have fun as we figure out the puzzle of Pickleball. Learn how to hit the required shots , serve , returns and dinks. Basic understanding of court positioning, as we introduce scoring and some rules of play.
Remember to laugh at that silly holy ball, that seems to have a mind of its own !
Lesson 11+Any shot techniques that still needs correction and drilling will be addressed. We will continue to also play as a team to enforce your new team dynamic tactics.
Student personal training requests will take high priority also
Lesson 4-10New Specialty shots combined with perfecting your foundational shot consistency are stressed.
Weaker parts of your live ball game are analyzed and positively addressed
Lesson 2-3As your control of the ball improves, team dynamics quickly becomes our biggest challenge and tactical focus.
Youth players
Working with kidsKids have no fear , so let’s start them young.
Mixing ball skills with fun games , has my younger students looking forward to more Pickleball. This is a great game for multi generational athletic healthy fun ….starting around 6 is OK

Play lesson, we keep their skills up and continue to improve their competitive results.
What you need to bringIt is a good idea to bring a small towel and water bottle to the courts. Many people want to wear a hat and bring their sunglasses also. Pickleball is pretty casual, so dress comfortably .
What I can bringI am an active Team Engage teaching partner. I have a good variety of great Engage Paddles for my clients to demo. I also provide all the Pickleballs we will use .
On occasion, we will set up my own personal portable net as needed.
