Your first tutoringThe first lesson is all about building confidence and getting to know the student. I assess their current skill level, learning style, and goals while creating a fun, encouraging environment. We cover the fundamentals through engaging activities and simple drills, ensuring they leave feeling successful and excited for the next lesson.
Tutoring 2-3During the second and third lessons, we reinforce the foundational skills introduced in the first lesson while gradually adding new concepts. I use repetition, games, and hands-on activities to strengthen understanding and build consistency. Students begin developing confidence through guided practice and positive reinforcement.
Tutoring 4-10By lessons four through ten, students continue improving their core skills while being introduced to more challenging activities appropriate for their pace. We focus on technique, problem-solving, independence, and applying skills in different situations. Each lesson is personalized to celebrate progress and address areas for growth.
Tutoring 11+As students become more confident, lessons are tailored to their individual goals and interests. We continue refining skills, introducing more advanced concepts when appropriate, and encouraging independence. Regular progress checks help ensure continued growth while keeping learning enjoyable and motivating.
What you need to bringPlease have your child join from a quiet space with a reliable internet connection and a device with a camera and microphone. Keep paper, crayons or colored pencils, a pencil, scissors (with adult supervision if needed), and any printable materials I send before class nearby. A parent or guardian should be available to help younger children get logged in and settled at the beginning of the lesson.
What I can bringI provide Zoom-based virtual instruction, interactive learning activities, digital worksheets, educational games, visual aids, songs, stories, and age-appropriate lesson materials. Families will receive any printable resources needed before class when applicable.
