Beginner training plan
Your first lessonFirst I will focus on building the students confidence . I will move on to build structure and repeated low pressure practice rather than than trying to make them sound polished immediately.
Lesson 2-3We will further discuss starting by discussing the purpose of the speech. Asking who are your readers, what is their age range and what action will you inspire the audience with?
Lesson 4-10Teach simple speech structure, opening, body and closing of the speech. Keep the speech short with second introductions. Emphasize speaking and not reasoning.
Lesson 11+I will teach delivery skills one at a time. We will discuss staying calm and not being nervous. We will practice the speech and the importance of practice and giving evidence to support your speech. I will give feedback,and video the student. Last we will celebrate progress.
Advanced training plan
Your first lessonWho should I speak to regarding my speech? Who is the age of my audience?
Lesson 2-3What will be the topic of my speech? What types of facts and research should you include in your speech? Let’s do some research on your speech topic.
Lesson 4-10Type the speech and discuss the speech with me to see if something should be added or deleted.
Lesson 11+Let’s video the speech and time the speech to make sure the presentation is accurate and effectively written. The student will celebrate success of having a great speech/presentation.
What you need to bringStudents need to bring a notebook, pencils and paper. Students need to bring their ideas on how to create an excellent speech.
