About your reading and writing coach
Hello! I am a tutor currently based out of Wilmington, Delaware. I have received my Bachelors degree with a double major in Educational Studies and Theatre from Dickinson College, and am currently pursuing my Masters in Theatre with a concentration in Pedagogy/Performance at Virginia Commonwealth University. I have three years of writing tutor experience under my belt, and have recently completed a year substitute teaching at Salesianum School.

Beginner training plan
Your first lessonOur first lesson will focus on building a bit of rapport with each other, and making sure the student feels comfortable being tutored. Showing off your writing is something that can be very vulnerable and scary, and the best lessons happen only after some trust is established. From there, we’ll read the writing out loud. After an initial read, we’ll get more detailed on editing specific sections or brainstorming ideas on where to go next.
Lesson 2-3Future lessons will be focused around any concerns not addressed in the first lesson.
What you need to bringIf you just want to brainstorm, just bring some ideas and be ready to chat! If you do have writing you’d like me to review, please have a copy of your writing printed out to take notes on, or otherwise have a notebook or something to take notes on. I do recommend handwriting, but electronic notes will also suffice.
What I can bringWe will review your concerns together and I will offer my writing expertise, including techniques that you can use in your writing process consistently for future projects.
