My teaching philosophy is simple: I believe in inspiring and empowering students dedicated to practicing and enjoying the process. Throughout my extensive career, I've enjoyed working with students of all ages and skill levels, helping them discover and develop their unique voices. I've been interested in music since I was a kid, and I wished I could actually sing properly.. One day at the music store I saw Miss Toshi, and at first sight I new she would be the best singing teacher based on her presence and charm.. :) I signed up immediately for my first lesson.. I was not disappointed for a moment, she could access right away the areas I needed to work on, and had amazing dedication and patience to work with me in the best way.. We started focused on vowel shaping and helped me to really understand the true art and technique of singing, as well as using it with full motion of the movement of sound, as well as expression and facing the fears of singing in front of people, and making it a wonderful and fun experience :) I was able to practice a song and perform it on stage which I don't think I could've ever done without her guidance, she is the real deal and I am so grateful to her for my one year of training before she had to move :( anyone who has her as a teacher is truly lucky... I think I said a lot, :*)

Toshi showed me how to sing correctly. Her unique technique improved my vocal resonance, and pitch. She helped me conquer stage fright. Toshi also trained me to perform in her professional shows in casinos, and corporate functions, emphasizing harmony skills and choreography.
What you need to bringI encourage my students to dress comfortably, bring bottled water, a notebook, and a recording device such as tablet, or phone, to record the lesson. It is important to record voice lessons so student's can practice as though they were in an actual lesson, thus improving at a faster pace.
I write out actual scales for piano student's to practice with and also what songs they need to work on for each week.
For Ukulele, I write on paper or in their book what to practice throughput the week concerning technique and songs. I also give extra curricular materials for them to work on.
