Jenna
I studied musical theatre and voice with Ms. Elizabeth for several years starting at age 6. She prepared we so well for the world of theatre by teaching me not only technique, but the proper morals and lessons we should take away from doing theatre. She directed shows with the perfect balance of kindness and business so that every kid felt encouraged but also determined and driven. In musical theatre class, I was given excellent training for singing and dancing at the same time. I learned how to be creative, think quick, and apply all of my knowledge to performing. I learned how to sing properly from a young age without hurting my voice. She is able to drill both vocal and dance technique while keeping a positive and creative environment. Without the training I recieved from Ms. Elizabeth I would not be where I am today!

I am so grateful to have grown up under the leadership of Mrs. Elizabeth. From ages 6 to 13, Mrs. Elizabeth helped me flourish in singing, acting, and dancing and gave me the opportunity to participate in various local theatre productions- the most memorable being my role as Matilda in Matilda the Musical. In all of my voice lessons, dance classes, and theatre rehearsals, Mrs. Elizabeth taught with grace, kindness, and patience, genuinely caring for and supporting every single one of her students. She has inspired me to believe in myself and discover my love and passion for the arts. Mrs. Elizabeth has impacted my life so positively and I wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone and everyone!

Ms. Brockwell gave such wonderful feedback to us as students and performers, allowing us to learn and make choices as growing actors. We were held to a high standard, and it was inspiring to have someone believe in us as performers, knowing that we could become something great. The community created was also so comforting to new and seasoned actors alike, and it was truly a joy to work with her-she helped to shape me into the performer and person I am today

Beginner training plan
Your first lessonFirst thing we would do is see what your range is. I will start by asking you to match pitches that I play on the piano on a vowel. From there we will start singing some simple scales on an open vowel to get an idea of what voice type you are.
Lesson 11+We will continue to work on that song as well as others and map it out so that you can sing it with the most powerful sound consistently . Then from there we will start to add the emotional parts of the song to truly act the piece and bring it to life through human emotion and storytelling.
Lesson 4-10When we finally get a grasp on how to produce a that sound we will then work on a song that I think will best fit your voice.
Lesson 2-3Once we have established your range, we can then strengthen the parts of your voice you will need to produce the fullest sound for that range.

Advanced training plan
Your first lessonIf you are willing, I will ask you to come prepared to sing a song that you are most comfortable singing. We will then discuss what you would like to work on and how we can get your voice to where you want it to be.
Lesson 11+I will ask you to sing the song we have been working on from beginning to end. Once you have the placement and technique solid, we will then go in and add the storytelling and see how your emotions can really color your voice to fully embrace the character and what you are trying to portray.
Lesson 4-10I will ask that you go over the song on your own to be familiar with it for our next lesson. I will then see how you applied the techniques we learned before and we will go over parts of the song that you would like to review or that I feel could use some more tweaking.
Lesson 2-3We will start with some vocal exercises that will help target the areas of your voice that you would like to strengthen. I will then ask you to practice these exercises in between our lessons. Once these are comfortable, we will move to the next step which is assigning a song to target those areas that you wish to strengthen.

Youth players
Working with kidsI start with the basics. Pitch matching, simple scales. I would then ask to see if they would be comfortable singing a song they already know to see where their voice is at.

Working with teenagersI first would ask what their goal is for these lessons. I would then see what their style of singing is like and then go from there to help them achieve their goals whether it be landing a role they are auditioning for, prepping for college, or just as a hobby to learn something new!

What you need to bringRecording device, sheet music if asked.
