About your soccer coach

With 14 years of experience as a goalkeeper, I bring a deep understanding of the game and a passion for player development to my coaching. I played two years of college-level soccer, where I also served as a student coach, helping guide and support my teammates. In addition, I’ve coached young players in learning the fundamentals of soccer, focusing on skill-building, teamwork, and confidence on and off the field.

Beginner training plan
Your first lessonI’d start with a quick warm-up and some simple coordination activities to get them moving. Then, I’d introduce basic ball control drills—like dribbling around cones, stopping and starting with the ball, and simple passing with both feet. We’d also work on basic shooting technique using close-range shots to build accuracy. Throughout the session, I’d keep things positive, encourage lots of touches on the ball, and finish with a short, fun game or challenge to reinforce what they’ve learned.
Lesson 4-10The focus would be on progression, repetition, and introducing simple game concepts while keeping everything fun and engaging.
Lesson 2-3We’d start with a dynamic warm-up and a quick review of basic dribbling and ball control, encouraging the player to use both feet. Then, I’d introduce passing and receiving drills—working on proper technique, accuracy, and moving after the pass to create space. Next, we’d practice simple 1v1 activities to build confidence in attacking and defending situations. I’d also add a few shooting drills focused on striking the ball cleanly and aiming for specific targets.

Youth players
Working with kidsWhen working with kids in soccer, I adapt my lessons based on three main factors: age, skill level, and the position the player wants to learn. Confidence in the basic skills will always be the first priority as that will help develop additional skills.

Working with teenagersAt the teenage level, players are capable of understanding more complex concepts, so I focus on refining technical skills while introducing deeper tactical awareness. Teenagers also start to develop physically at different rates, so I adjust drills to match their strength, speed, and endurance levels while still emphasizing proper technique and injury prevention.
