Your first lessonIn the first lesson, I like to assess the innate skills of the student through ball control and dribbling drills. The goal for the first lesson is to understand the base skill level of the student while they are having fun and building confidence.
What you need to bringStudent should bring soccer cleats (preferred, no required), and a water bottle.
What I can bringI provide all the equipment during practice. From balls to cones.

When my son asked me to try soccer at age 8, I was very reluctant as I was worried because trying soccer for the first time at this age puts you really behind most of the kids who have been playing for years. I was concerned that he would be placed on a team that didn't want him, and he would feel that. Ernesto accepted my son into the team with no questions asked. He was a great coach and a great example of sportsmanship. I am grateful that he made my son not only feel like a part of the team but an important part of it. He learned so much about soccer this year with little to no previous experience. My son got "most improved" for the year all from the time and coaching that he received. I hope that other kids in my son's situation get to experience a coach that is willing to embrace newcomers and put emphasis on learning skills and development and not just winning.
