About your soccer coach
Hi! My name is Grace and I’ve been playing soccer since I was 4 years old. I played travel club, highschool, and Division 1 soccer at IUPUI totaling 21 years of experience. (Time flies!). My experience in athletics and teaching has giving me the ability to tailor every session to hit specific goals. Let’s connect! Some other things that make me who I am other than my love for soccer: -I love to box, paint, do nails, anything creative really -I’ve worked as a preschool teacher, waitress, retail clerk, and HR Assistant -I enjoy spending time in nature -I have an orange cat named Stinky

Beginner training plan
Your first lessonBrief intake! Depends on age, but accessing skill, goals, and what they’d like to work on. There would be a 5 min warm up and cooldown at the end of each session. I would love some time at the end for feedback on both sides.
Lesson 11+Focusing more on speed and accuracy. The goal would be to have some of the basic skills down and we’d focus more on picking up the pace. 1v1’s at speed, mirror drill, shielding defensively, shooting with accuracy and power.
Lesson 4-10Potentially focusing more on accuracy. Still incorporating basics. Passing over further distance, into shooting into a goal, driving balls. Incorporating defensive skills. Introduction of 1v1, first touch activities.
Lesson 2-3We would start with basics to access skill level. We’d likely be working on basic ball control, building confidence, and coordination. Ex: toe taps, pull-push, passing. Footskills.
Youth players
Working with kidsHaving fun is essential! I would incorporate most everything the same, just present it in a different way. It could be a mini game or tag. Something that will keep them engaged while they learn. So that they can understand that exercise can be fun!
Working with teenagersI think understanding how teenagers like to learn or how they learn best is huge. This is why a brief intake at the beginning is so important. Accessing what THEY want to learn and what THEIR goals are. And how they retain information best. Do they like a more fun or intense approach, what are their goals, etc.
What you need to bringYou should bring your own ball, water, and cleats.
What I can bringI am currently working on getting some more equipment. I’ll have cones, balls, some small goals, and an agility ladder.
