Your first lessonIntroduction & Basics
Focus on building comfort with the ball and understanding simple instructions. Introduce basic dribbling, passing, and control. Emphasize fun, safety, and learning players’ skill levels.
Lesson 11+Confidence, Fitness & Tactical Growth
Increase the intensity of drills and encourage players to combine skills under pressure. Work on more advanced concepts like switching play, creating width, and quick transitions. Sessions include game-realistic scenarios to help players build confidence, improve teamwork, and prepare for competitive play.
Lesson 4-10Skill Building & Game Awareness
Progress to more controlled passing patterns, 1v1 situations, and basic shooting technique. Add small-sided games to build decision-making, communication, and spacing. Begin teaching simple tactical ideas such as spreading the field, supporting teammates, and transitioning between attack and defense.
Lesson 2-3Fundamental Skills
Develop consistency in dribbling with both feet, short passing, and simple receiving techniques. Introduce light agility work and very basic positioning. Sessions end with small, fun games to reinforce learning.
Youth players
Working with kidsI adapt my coaching for kids by keeping instructions simple, using lots of demonstrations, and making activities fun and active. I focus on positive reinforcement, short drills, and a supportive environment so they stay engaged, confident, and excited to learn.
