Beginner training plan
Your first lessonAn introductory skill assessment for dribbling, passing, shooting, and decision making/awareness. Future training plans will be more tailored to a player's skill level after this first lesson.
Lesson 11+Depending on player progression these lessons may continue to look similar to the first 10 if players need additional repetition to really grasp the skills and concepts we worked on. If they do not need this additional work, we will re-evaluate their other skills and decide which other areas of their game they want to improve. The goal of these later lessons is to begin working to develop a "complete" player, someone that is competent in all areas of soccer and can play multiple positions confidently, is physically prepared to play on a larger field, against more developed players, at a faster game speed, and so on.
Lesson 4-10These are the sessions where we start to expand a players skill set while reinforcing the foundations we have built earlier (or that they already had). Exposing players to more complex situations and challenging techniques will help continue to develop players physically and mentally.
Lesson 2-3After the skill assessment and discussion of what areas players want to improve in these lessons typically focus on evaluating a player's skills in these more specifically areas and start building a stronger foundation in those particular areas. The goal is to make sure that players have a physical as well as mental understanding of how to execute those skills.

Advanced training plan
Your first lessonFor players that are more advanced I still recommend an introductory skill assessment for dribbling, passing, shooting, and decision making/awareness. This prevents redundant training sessions covering skills they already possess and helps to hone in on the specific skills they still need to develop in order to be a well rounded player.
Lesson 11+Similar to my approach for beginner players, hopefully at this point players feel that they have improved the area of their game that they were hoping to and these later sessions are an opportunity to work on additional areas of the game that they want to improve but were not our primary focus. Our goal for these sessions is again to work on developing a "complete player" who is a confident and competent player in multiple positions, plays at a faster game speed, and is beginning to have some aspects of their game be exceptional.
Lesson 4-10These are the sessions where the majority of the work takes place to develop and improve the skills that were highlighted in the first few sessions as not being as developed. Our focus would be to ensure there is a strong foundation and then build out the sessions to introduce additional layers of skill or complexity. This avoids throwing players in the "deep end" but not spending excessive time working on skills they already possess.
Lesson 2-3Typically with advanced players the second and third sessions are a continuation of the initial skill assessment but with more focused placed on the area(s) in which they struggled or seemed less confident in. This helps to find the particular situations in which they may struggle mentally or physically. For example, if in the first session we noticed that "passing" in general was not always consistent we would run through a variety of passing activities to find the specific game-like situations where this skill is less developed.

Youth players
Working with kidsThe primary focus of my youth training sessions is engagement and enjoyment. I want younger players to have fun and feel that every session they are learning and getting better. In a solo training session with young players this can be challenging but I find that encouraging exploration and self-expression in sessions is a great way to foster engagement and give players a sense of agency in their own development.

Working with teenagersWhen working with teenagers I find that it is typically the mental aspects of soccer, more than the physical or technical ones, that require the greatest attention. In asking them to reflect on their own performance and be more mindful of their actions not only do they deepen their understanding of the game but they also learn how to learn from their own playing experiences at team training sessions and games. And, by being more mentally present, their physical and technical performances are often easier to improve because they can recognize themselves where they may be struggling and why.
