Hi, I’m McKenzie Clark, a professional softball player with Athletes Unlimited Pro Softball and a proud graduate of Clemson University, where I was a four-year starter in the outfield. I’m passionate about teaching athletes how to build confidence, refine mechanics, and approach the game with both discipline and joy. Whether you’re just starting your softball journey or preparing to play at the next level, I provide lessons tailored to each player’s skill set and goals. My focus is on helping athletes not just improve their game, but also fall in love with the process of getting better.

Beginner training plan
Your first lessonWith beginners, I like to start by running a series of simple drills to gauge their current skill level. We’ll work through:
Tee drills – to evaluate swing mechanics and bat control
Front toss – to test timing and contact skills
Fielding drills – grounders and pop flies to check glove work and footwork
Throwing drills – focusing on grip, accuracy, and arm motion
Hand–eye coordination drills – to make sure the body is moving in sync and building athletic awareness
Lesson 2-3Lessons 2-3 will be about repetition/comfort. Fielding Review & Extension (10–12 min)
Start with rolling ground balls right at them → progress to either side.
Introduce footwork after fielding: shuffle or crow-hop into the throw.
Pop fly basics: glove up early, track with eyes, two hands.
Hitting Progression (15 min)
Tee work (focus on stance, balance, follow-through).
Add tee target drill (aim for middle/opp field).
Short round of front toss → timing and hand–eye coordination.
Base Running Basics (8–10 min)
Teach running through first base (no slowing down).
Introduce how to round the bag if it’s a hit to the outfield.
Fun drill: timed sprints home → 1st → home.
