Beginner training plan
Your first lessonAsk what you want to get out of pickleball? Is it fitness? Meeting new friends? Learning a new fun sport? Perhaps getting into a competitive tournament? All great wants and reasons to play pickleball and take lessons. I’ll ask a few more questions to get to know you - we’ll do some cooperative dinking after some dynamic flexibility warmup and do a serve/return or kitchen/NVZ lesson. Then we’ll wrap-up with a lesson feedback and static stretching/cooldown.
Lesson 11+More of the same with higher skilled shots emphasized.
Lesson 4-10Lesson4-10 will continue to emphasize the three (3) parts of the game:
1. Serve/return
2. Transition
3. Non-Volley Zone (aka - kitchen)
Lesson 2-3Lessons 2-3 will include dynamic flexibility warmup-up and cooperative warmup followed by transition and/or non-volley zone lesson. And as always, we’ll finish with a lesson feedback along with some static stretching/cooldown.
Advanced training plan
Your first lessonWe’ll still go over the basics - just to have the student re-iterate to me the three (3) basics phases of pickleball. All lessons include a dynamic flexibility stretching, cooperative dinking, then the lesson - lots more drilling, continuous drilling - whether it be long forehands, backhands, transition shots and of course NVZ.
