Cathy
Thank you Coach Andre for being my coach the last 3 years. You helped me to grow and love tennis as much as I do and I am so grateful for that. You’ve always pushed me to work my hardest and be the best player I can be which is the only reason why I’m at the level I’m at today. You’re so kind and funny and make every single practice memorable. Thank you again for everything.

Coach Andre is the best combination of coach/player. Coach Andre has been my coach since age 5. His ability to transfer his knowledge of the game is impressive. I have received compliments from many professional coaches of how technically sound my stokes are. Additionally, as a player, coach Andre is 2nd to none. I am a 10.0 UTR player who is currently playing at UNC and I am still not able to beat coach Andre. He is a tremendous coach and player.
Grace C
Coach Andre is a great coach and player. He has been my only coach since I was 5 years old. He makes learning the game easy because he is able to transfer his knowledge of the game to his students in an easy to understand fun way. Coach Andre is also a great player. I am 9.0 UTR varsity player and I still can’t win a game from coach Andre.
Divena B
Coach Andre is the best combination of coach and player. He has taught how to be a better technical and tactical player. My game went from a 3.0 UTR to a 7.5 UTR in 6 months. I have also seen coach Andre compete and beat D1 tennis players and won every match. He is a great coach, player and person.
Kylie B
Coach Andre is by far the best coach ever. My game has improved tremendously since I worked with him. Coach is also the greatest tennis player. I have seen him compete on the highest level and he is so easy to get along with and makes tennis fun.
Emmy H
Coach Andre is the only coach I have had. I knew nothing about tennis and within a short period of time I am now playing on my school’s varsity team. Coach Andre knowledge of the game is impressive and he knows how make learning the game fun.

Beginner training plan
Your first lessonIt’s very important that the first lesson be simple and fun. Make sure the student or students know the correct grips to use for the various strokes. Teaching the progression of every stroke is very important. I think that drop feeds are very important for the first lesson to make it easy for the student to make contact with the ball and build confidence. I would keep the first lesson to forehands and backhands and review at the end what was learned to make sure the student has something to build on for the next lesson.
Lesson 11+Lessons 11+ should be about consistency. Can the players hit specific targets on the court consistently and gain confidence in their progression. Games can be a little more challenging at this point such as Dingles where you have 2 cross-court points going at the same time. If one point is missed, all players compete for the last ball in play. Always review at the end of each lesson.
Lesson 4-10Lessons 4-10 should be about repetition and building muscle memory to ensure consistency. Always review what was learned in previous lessons to build on. Patterns of play should be introduced. There should be a lot of time spent on serves in each lesson to ensure that players can play games. At this point, players should be able to keep score and be able to play on their own while the coach oversees the competition.
Lesson 2-3Lesson 2 is a review of what was learned in lesson 1 for the first 15 minutes. I would then incorporate serves, volleys and scoring into the lesson. Rallying would be incorporated into lesson 2-3 to show progression and continue to build confidence. Games such as champs and challengers, queen/king of the court where you have to win 2 out of 3 points to be the champ or king/queen. Other games such Olympics where you have to win a baseline point, a volley and overhead to be the Olympic champion.

What you need to bringRacquet and water to stay hydrated

What I can bringTraining basket with balls. Cones and markers to work hitting zones. Ladders and jump ropes to work on footwork and agility.
