I am a passionate and experienced tennis and pickleball player/coach, currently playing at an advanced level with the Tampa Pickleball Crew in Ybor City several days a week. I’ve coached through In the Zone Tennis and led the Byron Center High School Girls JV tennis team to success. Beginner training plan
Your first lessonFirst, i’ll go over the basics of tennis, including the understanding of rules, scoring and essential equipment. we will also cover fundamental skills such as correct grip, stance and basic strokes to get you started with confidence!
Lesson 11+Finally, we’ll apply your skills in real-life game scenarios with guided practice sessions, focusing on point construction and match play. I’ll introduce you to advanced techniques like topspin, slice, and approach shots, preparing you for more competitive play.
Lesson 4-10Now we’ll focus on improving your shot accuracy and control, practicing with both groundstrokes and volleys. We will work on rallying techniques and begin to introduce you to simple game strategies.
Lesson 2-3Next, we’ll build on your initial skills by refining your forehand and backhand strokes; and practicing consistent volleys ad introduce the serve. I’ll also introduce you to footwork and basic court positioning to enhance your game play.
Advanced training plan
Your first lessonWe’ll assess your current skill level, then revisit and perfect your foundational skills as needed. We will ensure your strokes, serves and footwork are precise and consistent. I’ll make an assessment of your current play to tailor the lessons to your specific needs.
Lesson 11+Finally, we’ll develop your mental game with techniques to improve focus, resilience and strategic thinking during matches. We’ll refine your overall play through intensive practice sessions and personalized feedback to elevate your performance to the next level.
Lesson 4-10We will then dive into advanced strategies for both singles and doubles, focusing on positioning, shot placement, and opponent analysis. We’ll engage in drills and practice matches to simulate competitive conditions and improve your game under pressure.
Lesson 2-3Next, we’ll practice advanced shots such as top-spin served, drop shots, and aggressive volleys. We’ll also work on shot selection and situational play to enhance your tactical decision-making on the court.
Youth players
Working with kidsWhen teaching kids, I adapt my lessons to be fun and engaging, using games and activities that make learning enjoyable. I focus on building a strong foundation in the basics while incorporating age-appropriate drills and exercises that keep their interest and energy levels high. Patience and encouragement are key, as I strive to create a positive and supportive environment for here young players feel confident and excited to learn.
Working with teenagersWhen teaching teenagers, I adapt my lessons to balance skill development with the social and competitive aspects that appeal to this age group. I incorporate advanced drills and techniques while fostering a supportive and collaborative environment that encourages teamwork and peer learning. By focusing on both physical fitness and strategic thinking, I help teens develop their skills and confidence, preparing them for competitive play and personal growth in the sport.
