About your tennis coach

My teaching experience includes: cardio tennis, women’s tennis teams (A-D), children ages 4-17 and coaching high school tennis. If you enjoy tennis and want to learn new techniques or simply learn the sport it is a joy to coach! My teaching style is based on personal needs, if you want to play for fun then we’ll have a great time learning and improving strokes. If you are looking to improve at a competitive level I do offer footwork drills and fast paced drills.

Your first lessonOur first lesson is an introduction of the ball to your strings. We will practice touch drills and becoming familiar with the basics of proper form
Lesson 2-3Working our way closer to the baseline. Becoming more comfortable with brushing the ball and start to touch on volleys (another type of shot at the net)
Lesson 4-10We’ve made it to the baseline! Player is now comfortable making shots from the baseline and begin working on movement to the ball.
Lesson 11+Time to start learning strategy! Now that you are comfortable hitting the ball and beginning to serve. We will discuss technique and how to play a match :)

Coach Sarah has been so supportive since our first lesson. A few years ago I was injured and shortly after was diagnosed with something that made me question if I’d play tennis again. Sarah was so enthusiastic when we first met and was extremely patient. She truly cares about her students and I have now been able to join a tennis team again. We have continued to work together and the improvement has been evident during matches.
