In the first lesson, I focus on getting to know the student’s skill level, goals, and comfort on the court. We start with a light warm-up, then go over basic grips, proper stance, and simple rally drills to introduce timing and coordination. The goal is to build confidence, ensure correct fundamentals, and make the session fun and encouraging.
For remaining lessons, we shift focus toward strategy, anticipation, and situational awareness. Students practice constructing points, maintaining focus under pressure, and improving stamina and reaction time. Each lesson combines technical improvement with tactical play, helping the student feel comfortable and confident playing full matches.
At this stage, students begin to refine technique and learn point structure. We build on consistency by adding topspin, volleys, and approach shots, as well as improving movement and recovery between shots. I also start introducing scoring, rally games, and light match play so students can apply their skills in real-game situations.
By the second and third lessons, we start developing consistent contact and rallying ability. I introduce forehand and backhand technique, footwork patterns, and basic positioning. We also cover simple serves and returns. The focus is on repetition, rhythm, and learning to keep the ball in play with control and confidence.
