Beginner training plan
Your first lessonAfter a brief get to know you, we will discuss basics on how to hold the violin and tune the open strings. Techniques on how to balance the violin in playing position will be practiced at home in anticipation of the second lesson.
Lesson 11+Further perfection of violin technique including long and short bow articulation, different combinations of notes, more advanced melodies, shifting, and vibrato.
Lesson 4-10Progress with notes will be achieved as we continue from week to week. We will have learned at least a few songs and basic rhythms depending on individual practice time.
Lesson 2-3Aspects of the bow hold are brought to the forefront in the second lesson. We will learn how to achieve a relaxed bow hold first, then progress to placing on the string to produce a good quality sound.
