Beginner training plan
Your first lessonIf a student does not yet have a violin and bow, we will go through the process of buying/renting one, and options depending on the student. Next, We will go through some vocabulary of the violin and begin music theory.
Lesson 11+Student will begin to play songs from music books and more advanced etudes. With progress, we will move on and play new songs.
Lesson 4-10At this point, student must have their violin. We will begin tuning and then play with basic scales and exercises, practicing etudes to begin.
Lesson 2-3Continuing with music theory, students will be familiar with basic violin terminology by this time. We will then start form, bowholds, and discuss violin care.
Advanced training plan
Your first lessonDiscuss music theory and form for correctly playing.
Lesson 11+By this point, continuing with scales, students will begin to work through songs from music work books.
Lesson 4-10Student will start to work on etudes and continue exercises. As we progress through etudes, we will increase the scope of our scale and music theory work.
Lesson 2-3Assuming student has their violin, our music theory curriculum will continue and we will start short exercises.
