Ryan Walters is a yoga instructor, performing artist and curator from Miami, Florida with a specialized focus in audio/visual arts and movement practices. For 10 years spent living in New York City, dedication as a student of variegated disciplines came to materialize as he began instructing and performing at institutions and events such as Dubspot, Ridgewood Yoga Studio and Ultra Music Festival. Shifting focus between performing arts and healing modalities, employing skills as an instructor of yoga styles including pre-natal and postpartum, endeavoring to curate an international label as well as record, produce, ghost-write and engineer for a myriad of artists, Ryan has advanced with a well-rounded perspective and teaching ability.

Beginner training plan
Your first lessonLesson structure may vary to accommodate individual student's needs.
Lesson 11+Prenatal yoga is offered to expecting mothers who have been approved for exercise, usually after the first trimester. Students will have the opportunity to connect with other women who are sharing in the experience of this phase of life while finding the space to deepen the bond and connection with their baby. Class will incorporate poses and sequences which are designed and modified for the pregnant body, allowing students to adjust as they feel comfortable. No prior yoga experience is required. Class duration is 1 hour. Children's yoga incorporates age-appropriate movement sequencing and poses. Activities include breathing exercises, fun and game oriented poses (including balancing), stories pertaining to poses and meditation, uplifting music, relaxation and more! Students will practice gross motor skills, social and group interaction, mindfulness and utilize tools for assisting the student to find an intentional, calm state Classes are 30 minutes for K-5 groups and 45 minutes for teenage groups. No prior yoga experience is required. Older groups will learn more advanced flowing techniques for strengthening.
Lesson 4-10Yin yoga predominantly consists of passive, ground-oriented poses which are sustained for extended periods, targeting connective tissues as well as various organs and their relationship to blood meridians which may be Yin or Yang in nature. Some poses are sustained for several minutes. This class is excellent for reducing anxiety while increasing circulation and joint mobility. No previous yoga experience is required. Class intensity is moderate but gentle. Class duration is 1 hour. Restorative yoga incorporates gentle, floor based sequences which utilize props for support such as blocks, blankets and bolsters. Through a passive and supported state, the body and mind are able to fully relax, reducing stress while slowing the heart rhythm, increasing circulation and engaging the parasympathetic nervous system. Sequencing is paced slowly and poses are sustained for extended durations. This class is ideal for individuals who are recovering from injuries as well as those who wish to regain energy. No previous yoga experience is required. Class duration is 1 hour. Kundalini yoga combines breathwork (pranayama), dynamic movement, mantra, and meditation to awaken your inner energy and bring clarity, vitality, and balance to your mind and body. Whether you're new to Kundalini or deepening your practice, this offering is designed to help you reset, recharge, and reconnect—anytime, anywhere. Class duration is 1 hour.

What you need to bringYou can bring anything you'd like! I would recommend blocks, straps, bolsters, a personal mat or anything else which would make you comfortable.
