Hi there, I'm Tom, and I'm currently one of the head coaches at Picklr Fountain Valley. I'm a dedicated IPTPA certified Pickleball instructor with a strong foundation in the sport, backed by over 3 years of playing experience. Recently played in PPA Las Vegas and finished with silver in 4.5 Mens Singles. Having triumphed in Round Robin events at Tustin Pickleball, I bring over two decades of tennis expertise, infusing a unique perspective into pickleball coaching. Finished with the gold at recent CAPA event at Los Cab Club. Passionate about nurturing skills in a fun and enjoyable manner, I'm committed to helping players of all levels excel on the court. Hey everyone I’m Manuel but I go by Manny. I’ve been playing soccer since I was seven. My biggest achievement was winning the 2004 U-17 Scorpoin K.O. Joga Bonito Nike tournament along with two other teammates. I love soccer as much as I love coaching. This is why I want to continue teaching it and coaching those that wish to improve their game. With a lifelong background in racket sports, including tennis, table tennis, and a passion for pickleball, I combine my experience as a competitive 5.0-level pickleball medalist with three Division 1 tennis championships and a Southern California CIF semifinal appearance. I currently teach at Mulholland Hills Country Club and Mika's Tennis Academy and have previously worked as a Special Education instructor, Registered Behavior Therapist, Adaptive Skills Clinician, Mobility Trainer, and Physical Therapist Aide. I hold a Master's degree in Special Education with a concentration in Applied Behavior Analysis and a Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology and Biomechanics. My journey with tennis began in childhood, playing with my grandmother, which sparked my passion and led me to join high school and college teams. Since then, I've maintained a regular schedule of playing several times a week. I've also enjoyed teaching numerous beginners, adept at starting players from scratch and guiding them through their tennis journey.
